Pharmacological action:

Zinc is an important intracellular trace element. It is a constituent of more than 70 enzymes that catalyze key steps of the synthesis of DNA, RNA and proteins. Therefore, zinc has a marked influence on the processes of growth and maturation of tissues, a positive operates in the undifferentiated delayed physical and mental development in children. Normalizes the process of division, differentiation and keratinization in the epidermis and its derivatives: hair and nails. Zinc has immunomodulatory effects on T-cell immunity and improves the factors of nonspecific immune defense. Zinc stimulates the synthesis of the glucocorticosteroid hormones in the inhibition of the adrenal cortex. Is a powerful antioxidant. Potentiates pharmacological effects of retinoids and reduces their toxicity.

Pharmacokinetics:

Absorbed in the small intestine: 40-65% in the duodenum, 15-21% in the jejunum and ileum.

Indications:

  • Zinc-deficient States and complex therapy of a number of diseases that occur with a decrease in the content of zinc in the body.
  • Enteropeptidase acrodermatitis.
  • Acne (pustular papules, conglobata).

Contraindications:

Side effects:

Zinc in the body accumulates and has no toxic properties, so Centeral is generally well tolerated even during long-term (3 months or more) admission. Of adverse events the most frequently observed nausea. When it appears the drug should be taken strictly after meals.

Drug interactions:

Zinc reduces absorption of tetracycline and copper.

Combined with any vitamin and mineral complexes.

Method of application and dose:

Inside, during or after a meal (a whole can not be divided or chewed).

When enteropathies the acrodermatitis and alopecia areata: adults and children over 4 years — 1 table. 3 times daily during or after meals. When the clinical improvement reduce the dose to 1 tab. 2 times a day, then 1 tab. a day until complete disappearance of symptoms.

In malignant alopecia: adults — 1-2 table. a day, children over 4 years — 1 table. 3 times a day.

In pustular acne, generalized pruritus: adults — 1-2 table. a day, children over 4 years — 1 table. a day.

When conditions associated with zinc deficiency: adults: 1 tab. 3 times a day as symptoms subside, reduce the dose to 1 tabl. a day. Children over 4 years — 1 table. a day.

Precautions:

When taking Tincturae more than 3-4 months it is advisable additional prescriptions of copper.
