PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

Antihelminthic broad spectrum of action. It prevents the synthesis of cellular tubulin, breaks glucose utilization and inhibits the formation of ATP in worms. Slowly and incompletely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The blood is associated with proteins. Unevenly distributed to organs. Accumulates in adipose tissue, liver, helminth larvae. Biotransformed in the liver to 2-amino derivative. To a large extent it excreted unchanged in the feces.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

SIDE EFFECT

INTERACTION

Carbamazepine etc. inductors reduce metabolism and cimetidine - increases the concentration in the tissues. Mebendazole reduces the need for insulin in patients with diabetes mellitus. Avoid concomitant administration of mebendazole with lipophilic substances.

Dosage and Administration

Inside, a small amount of water. Enterobiasis Adults and children over 10 years - 100 mg, once, children 2-10 years - 25-50 mg, once. In the case of a high probability of re-infestation - again in 2-4 weeks at the same dose. Ascariasis, trichocephalosis, hookworm, taeniasis, strongyloidiasis and mixed helminth infections - 100 mg in the morning and evening for 3 days. Trihonellez - 200-400 mg 3 times a day for 3 days, and on day 4 of 10 - 400-500 mg 3 times a day. Echinococcosis - 500 mg 2 times a day during the first 3 days, the next 3 days the dose is increased to 500 mg three times a day, the dose is increased further to a maximum (at the rate of 25-30 mg / kg / day) and take 3 -4 reception.

OVERDOSE

Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pain in the gastrointestinal tract. With prolonged use at high doses: reversible hepatic dysfunction, hepatitis, neutropenia. Treatment: gastric lavage, enema, reception activated carbon, there is no specific antidote.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
