Description pharmaceutical form:

Pills capsuleline shape, film-coated from light gray to dark gray in color, engraved with "Prenatal" on one side of the tablet and "Forte" on the other, with a specific smell.

Feature:

Combined multivitamin preparation with macro - and microelements.

Pharmacological action:

Determined by the properties of the vitamins and minerals contained in the preparation.

Retinol (vitamin A) is involved in the synthesis of various substances (proteins, lipids, mucopolysaccharides).

Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) plays an important role in maintaining the balance of calcium and phosphorus in the body of a pregnant woman. Deficiency occurs in children rickets, and in adults in the bone decreases the content of calcium (osteoporosis).

B vitamins are involved in the formation of enzymes that regulate different types of metabolism in the body.

Folic acid is essential for the normal formation of blood cells, stimulates erythropoiesis, is involved in the synthesis of amino acids. In the early stages of pregnancy reduces risk of fetal neural tube defects.

Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant. Prevents increased blood clotting and a beneficial effect on peripheral circulation. Involved in the synthesis of proteins and hemoglobin, in the process of cell growth, functions of skeletal muscle, heart and blood vessels, sex glands. A lack of vitamin E in the early stages of pregnancy can cause miscarriage.

Vitamin C is involved in the oxidation of several biologically active substances, the regulation of metabolism in the connective tissue, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting and tissue regeneration, stimulates the formation of steroid hormones, normalizes capillary permeability, increases resistance to infections, reduces inflammatory reactions.

Calcium is involved in bone formation, blood coagulation, transmission of nerve impulses, reducing skeletal and smooth muscle, necessary for normal functioning of the heart. Promotes the absorption of iron.

Iron is part of hemoglobin molecule, participates in the transport of oxygen in the body and prevents the development of anemia in pregnant women (especially in II–III trimesters).

Zinc is essential for normal formation of the fetal skeleton and tissue regeneration, is a part of several hormones, including insulin, reduces the risk of several fetal anomalies.

Indications:

Prevention and treatment of hypovitaminosis and mineral deficiencies in preparation for pregnancy, during pregnancy, in the postpartum period. Prevention of iron-deficiency anemia in pregnant women, calcium deficiency in the mother's body.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Not recommended for use in hypervitaminosis A, excessive accumulation of iron in the body, elevated levels of calcium in the blood, increased excretion of calcium with urine and urolithiasis.

Side effects:

Possible allergic reactions to the drug components.

Possible staining of urine in an intense yellow color, which is not dangerous, because due to the presence of Riboflavin in the composition of the drug.

Drug interactions:

The drug contains iron and calcium and therefore may delay intestinal absorption of antibiotics from group of tetracycline and antimicrobial agents — fluoroquinolones derivatives.

Vitamin C increases the effects and side effects of antimicrobial agents from the group of sulfonamides (including the appearance of crystals in the urine).

Antacids containing aluminum, magnesium, calcium and cholestyramine, reduce the absorption of iron.

While the appointment of diuretics from the group of thiazides increases the likelihood of hypercalcemia.

Method of application and dose:

Inside, after Breakfast, in the morning with water. Women at the planning stage of pregnancy, during pregnancy and after childbirth, and 1 table. a day. The course of the drug on the advice of the doctor.

Overdose:

Treatment: use activated charcoal, gastric lavage, symptomatic treatment.
