Description pharmacological action:

Pikovit D contains the 10 most important vitamins as well as calcium and phosphorus. B vitamins (B1, B2, B6, B12), Pantothenic acid and nicotinamide are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.

Folic acid is inactive, but in the body it is converted into biologically active coenzyme — tetrahydrofolic one acid, which is required for the biosynthesis of nucleic acids. It enhances the growth and is involved in the maturation of red blood cells. Folic acid participates in the formation and regeneration of platelets and their functioning.

Vitamin a is essential for the development of epithelial cells and synthesis of the visual pigment.

Vitamin D is involved in the metabolism of calcium and promotes proper mineralization of bones and teeth.

Vitamin C speeds up the absorption of iron and takes part in many redox processes in the body.

Calcium and phosphorus play a key role in the mineralization of bones and teeth. Calcium ions activate numerous enzymes, they are involved in the regulation of the tonus of the heart muscle, transmit nerve impulses and regulate the permeability of cell membranes.

Water-soluble vitamins (b vitamins, vitamin C and Biotin) well absorbed in amounts corresponding to daily requirements of the body. The quantity exceeding the saturation level of the tissues, are excreted by the kidneys and to a lesser extent, through the gastrointestinal tract. After oral administration of fat-soluble vitamins a and D are absorbed in the small intestine in the presence of fats. Higher amounts of fat-soluble vitamins accumulate in the liver and, therefore, are more toxic than water soluble vitamins.

Picovit D vitamin and mineral tablets do not contain sugar. Tablet Pikovit D contain a sweetening substance maltitol and mannitol. They do not have blagopriatnoe effects on the teeth.
