The composition and form of issue:
1 ml of nasal drops or spray and 1 g of the nasal gel contain fenilafrina 2.5 mg and dimetindene maleate 0.25 mg nasal drops in vials-droppers of 15 ml, in a box 1 bottle nasal spray — in tubes-droppers of 10 ml, in a box 1 tube of gel in tubes of 12 grams in a box 1 tuba.
Pharmacological action:
Phenylephrine selectively stimulates alpha1-adrenergic receptors and constricts venous vessels of the mucous membrane of the nose dimetindene — lock gistaminovye H1-receptors.
Description pharmacological action:
Eliminates swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose and paranasal sinuses. Reduces nasal discharge and helps cleanse the nasal passages without disturbing the physiological functions of the ciliated epithelium and mucous membrane of the nose.
Clinical pharmacology:
The gel preferably with dry mucous membranes and effects of injuries of the nose, presence of crusts and for the prevention of night nasal congestion.
Indications:
Acute (including colds), allergic and chronic rhinitis acute and chronic sinusitis, acute otitis media (in complex treatment) preparation for surgical procedures in the nose area and eliminate post-operative swelling of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, atrophic rhinitis (including ozena), pregnancy, breast-feeding, child before age 12 years (low body weight).
Application of pregnancy and breast-feeding:
Contraindicated in pregnancy. At the time of treatment should stop breastfeeding.
Side effects:
Rare transient stinging sensation and dryness in the nasal cavity.
Method of application and dose:
Intranasal, in the introduction to be clear the nasal passages. Adults and children over 6 years — 3-4 times a day in each nostril, 3-4 drops or 1-2 injections of a spray, or application of the gel.
Children up to 6 drops 3-4 times a day: from 1 year to 6 years — 1-2 drops, up to 1 year — 1 drop.
Overdose:
Symptoms: fatigue, pallor, agitation, insomnia, increased blood pressure, tachycardia, pain in the stomach.
Treatment: the appointment of activated charcoal and laxatives (for small children) or the introduction of large quantities of liquid (for children aged 6 years and adults).
Precautions:
Should not be prescribed to patients taking MAO inhibitors or who received them during the previous two weeks.
Use caution with hypertension, angina, arrhythmia and other cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis, hyperthyroidism, angle-closure glaucoma, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, in combination with tricyclic antidepressants and beta-blockers in patients with severe reactions to sympathomimetics (insomnia and dizziness).
Do not apply more than 1 week without consulting a doctor. Long-term (more than 1 hour), or excessive use may lead to the development of tahiphylacsii, mucous membranes and nasal congestion.
