General information
Draxin - antibacterial medicament in the form of solution for injection, containing in 1 ml as active substance 25 or 100 mg of tulathromycin, and as auxiliary substances monothioglycerol and water. The drug by its appearance is a clear, colorless solution.
Form release
Draxin is produced in the form of a sterile solution for injection, packaged in glass bottles of appropriate capacity, sealed with rubber stoppers and rolled aluminum caps.
Pharmacological properties
Tulathromycin - a semisynthetic bacteriostatic antibiotic macrolides, ingibiruya the protein biosynthesis by selectively binding to the ribosomal RNA of bacteria.
In cattle tulathromycin is rapidly reabsorbed and slowly excreted from the body.The maximum concentration in the blood-within 30 minutes after administration.
The drug is excreted by the kidneys.
Indications for use
Draxin applied to cattle for the treatment and prevention of bacterial respiratory infections caused by Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus somni (Haemophilus somnus), and Mycoplasma bovis. For the treatment of infectious keratoconjunctivitis caused by Moraxella bovis and Neisseria spp. With the treatment and prophylactic purpose Draxin is used in respiratory diseases of bacterial etiology in disadvantaged farms in the identification of sick animals.
The drug is not recommended for cows during lactation.
Dosage
1 ml per 40 kg of weight once subcutaneously. In the treatment of animals with a mass greater than 300 kg, the dose is divided so that to enter at one point is not more than 7.5 ml Draxxin should not be mixed in the same syringe with other drugs, is not recommended simultaneously with other macrolides or lincosamides.
Waiting period
Slaughter of cattle for meat is allowed not earlier than 30 days, and meat at the site of administration of the drug can be used not earlier than 55 days after the last use of the drug. If the slaughter of animals is performed earlier than 64 days after the last use of the drug, the liver and kidneys are disposed of. After 64 days, the liver and kidneys of animals can be used for food without restrictions. It is forbidden to use the drug for cows from which milk is obtained for food purposes. Do not use in pregnant cows or heifers, which are planning to obtain milk for food purposes within 2 months before expected date of calving.
Storage conditions
Draxin stored with caution (list B), in a dry, protected from direct sunlight at temperatures from 50C to 250C. Shelf life of the drug under storage conditions-3 years from the date of manufacture. After opening the bottle, the drug should be used within 30 days. Draxin can not be used after the expiration date.
