Pharmacological action

Senna leaves-a drug of plant origin, has a laxative effect, which occurs after 8-12 hours. It causes chemical irritation of the receptors of the intestinal mucosa, reflexively increases peristalsis, which leads to faster emptying of the intestine, restores its normal functioning, does not cause addiction, does not affect digestion.

Indications

Chronic constipation (hypo -, atony of the large intestine), regulation of stool in hemorrhoids, proctitis, anal fissures.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, spastic constipation, spastic colitis, acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity, appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, pinched hernia, perforated ulcer, proctitis and hemorrhoids (acute phase), abdominal pain of unknown origin, metrorrhagia, gastrointestinal bleeding, cystitis, water-electrolyte metabolism disorders, pregnancy.

Method of administration and dosage

Inside, 100 ml of broth at night. The maximum daily dose is 1.2 g. The duration of treatment is 2-3 weeks.

Side effects

Allergic reactions, abdominal pain, diarrhea, flatulence. With prolonged use - colitis.

Storage conditions

In a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
