Dexamethasone corticosteroids. Anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and desensitizing effect. Has antiexudative effect. Dexamethasone actively suppresses inflammation.
The combination of corticosteroids with an antibiotic (tobramycin) to reduce the risk of infection.
Indications:
- prevention of postoperative infections
- blepharitis
- conjunctivitis
- keratitis (without damage of the epithelium).
Contraindications:

- condition after removal of the foreign body of the cornea.
Application of pregnancy and breast-feeding:
Sufficient experience in use of the drug during pregnancy, breast-feeding is not. Perhaps the use for the treatment of pregnant women prescribed by a doctor, if the expected therapeutic effect exceeds the risk of possible side effects. Discontinue use of the drug on the breast-feeding period.
Side effects:
Hypersensitivity and allergic reactions (itching, swelling of eyelids, conjunctival hyperemia).
Side effects due to the steroid component are: increased intraocular pressure rear subcapsular cataracts, slow the healing process.
The secondary infection. The development of secondary infection has been observed after the use of combined preparations containing corticosteroids in combination with antibiotics. Fungal infections in the cornea tend to occur particularly often with long-term use of steroids. Appearance on corneal nonhealing ulcers after long-term treatment with steroid medications may indicate the development of a fungal infestation. Secondary bacterial infection may occur as a consequence of the suppression of defence reactions of the body of the patient.

In the case of use with other topical ophthalmic drugs the interval between their application shall not be less than 5 min.
In the case of appointment of tobramycin topically simultaneously with systemic aminoglycoside antibiotics, should monitor the overall blood picture.
