DESCRIPTION
Tialong injection is an antibacterial drug in the form of an injection solution intended for the treatment of pigs with diseases of bacterial and mycoplasma etiology. In appearance, the drug is a transparent liquid from light yellow to yellow in color. The drug is produced in the form of a sterile solution, packaged in 100 ml in hermetically sealed vials.
ADVANTAGES
- A high degree of bioavailability due to lipophilicity allows you to have prolonged properties;
- The greatest activity against mycoplasmas and spirochaetes;
- Absolutely safe due to low toxicity;
- The absence of resistant strains to thiamulin provides a high sensitivity of the microflora to it;
- Increased concentration in the lungs and intestines increases the effectiveness of treatment.
- A single course of treatment for swine dysentery.
STRUCTURE
In 1 ml, the active substance contains tiamulin (in terms of tiamulin base) - 100 mg/ml, as well as auxiliary components.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Tiamulin hydrogenfumarate, which is part of the drug, belongs to the semi-synthetic derivatives of the diterpene antibiotic pleuromutilin, produced by Pleurotus mutulis, has bacteriostatic activity, suppressing protein synthesis at the ribosomal level of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, Tiamulin is active against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Listeria spp.) and Gram-negative microorganisms (Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella pneumoniae, Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides spp., Campylobacter coli, Lawsonia intracellularis.) and mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, M. hyorhinis, M. hyosynoviae, M. synoviae, M. gallisepticum, M. meleagridis) and spirochaetes (Serpulina hyodysenteriae, S. innocens, S. pilosicoli, S. suis). After parenteral administration of the drug, tiamulin is well and quickly absorbed from the injection site and penetrates into most organs and tissues of the animal, reaching maximum concentrations in 1.5-2 hours; it is excreted mainly with bile and partially with urine.
INDICATIONS
Tialong is prescribed to pigs and cattle for the treatment of respiratory tract infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to thiamulin, including pasteurellosis, enzootic pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and arthritis of bacterial and mycoplasma etiology. Pigs are also prescribed for dysentery caused by Treponema hyodesenteriae.
APPLICATION AND DOSAGE
The drug is administered to pigs intramuscularly at the rate of the active substance 10-15 mg/kg of body weight. For the treatment of pigs with dysentery, spirochetosis, enterocolitis and proliferative enteropathy-1.0 ml/12.5 kg of animal body weight once, in severe cases, the injection is repeated after 24 hours. In enzootic bronchopneumonia and mycoplasma arthritis, 1.5 ml/12.5 kg of body weight for 3 days. With hemophilic pleuropneumonia – 2.0 ml/12.5 kg of body weight for 3 days.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
It is not allowed to use the drug simultaneously with polyester ionophores, aminoglycoside antibiotics, muscle relaxants, due to the possible occurrence of side effects and complications in animals (diarrhea, anorexia, paresis, nephrotoxic effects), as well as piglets weighing less than 20 kg and animals with severe renal insufficiency. Pregnant sows are prescribed TialongTM only in the second half of gestation.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
The shelf life of the drug, provided that it is stored in a dry, protected from light, at a temperature of 5°C to 25°C in a closed package, is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
