Composition and form of issue:

Tablets, film-coated. 1 tablet contains:

tamoxifen (as citrate) 10, 20, 30 or 40 mg

in a contour acheikova packing 10 PCs in a carton 3 or 10 packs.

Pharmacological action:

Competitively (instead of endogenous ligand) binds estrogen receptors in target organs, blocking the formation of estrogen receptor complex.

Indications:

Metastatic carcinoma of the breast, secondary therapy after surgical treatment of carcinoma of the breast.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity.

Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding:

Contraindicated in pregnancy (before treatment pregnancy should be excluded). During treatment, reliable contraception should be provided.

Side effect:

Pain in the bones and foci of tumor growth, nausea, vomiting, hot flashes, suppression of menstruation in the pre-menopausal period, itching in the genital area, vaginal bleeding, swelling, thrombocytopenia, ovarian cysts, phlebitis, thromboembolism, visual impairment, skin rash.

Drug interaction:

Mutual weakening of effect with estrogens. While the appointment of drugs, lowering blood clotting, possible potentiation of hypocoagulation (increased risk of bleeding).

Dosage and administration:

Inside. Usually appoint 20-40 mg daily. With long-term therapy, 30 mg daily is recommended.

Precautionary measures:

Special care should be taken when thrombocytopenia, leukopenia and hypercalcemia (mandatory control of calcium and platelets in the blood).
