Composition and form of issue:
1 g ointment contains sulfadiazina silver salt 10 mg in aluminum tubes of 50 g, in a cardboard pack of 1 tube.
Description of pharmacological action:
It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as fungi of a number of Candida and dermatophytes. The bactericidal effect is caused by silver ions released during the hydrolysis of the silver salt of sulfadiazine and is supplemented by the bacteriostatic effect of sulfadiazine. Ointment has a moderate osmotic activity.
Indications:
Wounds (including long-term non-healing), trophic ulcers, bedsores, burns with mild exudation.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, glucose deficiency?6-phosphate dehydrogenase, deep purulent wounds and burns with abundant exudation, pregnancy, lactation is contraindicated in premature infants and children up to 3 months.
Side effect:
Dyspeptic disorders, leukopenia, burning sensation, pain at the site of application, skin allergic reactions.
Dosage and administration:
Outwardly. Apply a thin layer (2-4 mm) after surgical treatment of the wound and removal of necrotic tissues (can be under the bandage), the bandage is changed 1-2 times a day or less often the maximum single dose is 300 g, the duration of treatment is up to 3 weeks.
Precautionary measures:
In the application of ointments on a large surface should be monitor kidney function, liver, the content of formed elements of blood. Patients should designate a rich alkaline water. When applied topically, up to 1% silver ions and 10% sulfadiazine can be absorbed from the damaged surface.
