Description
Antimicrobial bacteriostatic agent, sulfanilamide. The mechanism of action of Soap is due to competitive antagonism with PABA, inhibition of dihydropteridine, violation of the synthesis of tetrahydrofolic acid required for the synthesis of purines and pyrimidines. Active against gram-positive and gram-negative cocci, Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Vibrio cholerae, Clostridium perfringens, Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Yersinia pestis, Chlamydia spp., Actinomyces israelii, Toxoplasma gondii. When applied to the skin promotes rapid healing of wounds and epithelialization of erosions.
Indications
Local treatment: tonsillitis, infected wounds of various etiologies, burns (I-II art.), folliculitis, boil, carbuncle, vulgar acne, impetigo, etc. purulent-inflammatory processes of the skin, erysipelas.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, anemia, renal/hepatic insufficiency, congenital deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, azotemia, porphyria, pregnancy, lactation.
Composition
Streptocide - powder for external use in bags of 2 g
Active substance - sulfanilamide: para-aminobenzene Sulfamide
Method of application
Streptocide is used orally for 0, 5-1 g 5-6 times a day. Children doses are reduced according to age. Higher doses for adults inside: single — 2 g, daily — 7 g.
Streptocide is locally injected into the wound 5-15 g of sterile powder, externally in the form of a 5% liniment or 10% ointment.
