Pharmacological action 

Activated charcoal – adsorptive means.

Having enterosorbiruyuschee, detoxification and anti-diarrhea action.

Has a high surface activity and high sorption capacity.

The activated carbon capable of adsorbing gases, toxic substances, heavy metal salts, alkaloids and glycosides, drugs, endo - and exotoxins from the gastrointestinal tract.

Testimony

  • dyspepsia,
  • intoxication with dysentery,
  • salmonellosis,
  • foodborne illness,
  • flatulence,
  • hypersecretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach,
  • allergic diseases,
  • of poisoning with chemical compounds
  • drugs (including alkaloids, salts of heavy metals);
  • to reduce the gassing in preparation for radiological and endoscopic studies.

Contraindications

  • individual intolerance to the preparation of activated carbon, 
  • ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract (including gastric ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcer, ulcerative colitis),
  • bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract.

Composition

1 tablet contains activated charcoal 0.25 g

Method of application and doses

Inside of 250-750 mg 3-4 times a day.

When used as an antidote - the dosage regimen is individual.

Drug interactions

Activated charcoal has adsorbent properties and while receiving the high dose with other drugs can significantly reduce their absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, which reduces the effectiveness of other drugs.
