The composition and form of issue: 

Capsules soft. 1 capsule contains:

BP alfacalcidol (1-alpha-hydroxyvitamin D3) 0,25 µg

calcium carbonate (from oyster shells) in an amount corresponding to 200 mg of calcium 

blistere in 10 PCs. in cardboard pack 3 blisters.

Description pharmaceutical form:

Soft gelatin capsules oblong, two colors (light blue/dark blue). The contents of capsules — white semi-solid mass.

Feature:

A combination drug.

Description pharmacological action:

Calcium is involved in bone formation, blood clotting, transmission of nerve impulses, contraction of skeletal muscles, regulation of the heart. It affects the activity of many enzymes, stimulates the protective mechanisms of the body.

Indications:

• Treatment and prevention of conditions involving lack of calcium and/or vitamin D3 in the body:
  
• osteoporosis (menopausal, senile, steroid, idiopathic, etc.) and its complications (bone fractures)
  
• to make up for lack of calcium and vitamin D3 in elderly age.
  

Contraindications:

• hypersensitivity to vitamin D3
  
• increased calcium excretion in the urine (hypercalciuria)
  
• urolithiasis (the formation of calcium stones)
  
• the high content of calcium in the blood (in people with increased function of parathyroid glands, hypervitaminosis D, osteoporosis, metastatic tumors in the bone).
  

Application of pregnancy and breast-feeding:

During pregnancy and lactation the drug should be taken only as directed by your doctor.

Side effects:

In the case of long-term use may increase the calcium content in the blood and urine.

Drug interactions:

Calcium may enhance absorption of tetracycline drugs, fluoride-containing preparations and iron preparations. Therefore, the drug is taken 2 hours before or after ingestion of tetracycline and fluoride. The acid reaction of food increases the absorption of calcium and is slightly alkaline reduces. Calcium enhances the effect of cardiac glycosides. Diuretics from the group of thiazides (hydrochlorothiazide, etc.) to reduce calcium excretion and thereby increase its content in the body.

Method of application and dose:

Inside. Adults — 1-2 capsules. a day. The length of treatment determined by the doctor.

Precautions:
