The composition and form of issue:
Tablets, film-coated. 1 tablet contains: piracetam 800 or 1200 mg
excipients: microcrystalline cellulose starch sodium starch of glycolate magnesium stearate
shell: hypromellose macrogol 6000 lacquer orange (E110) — tablets of 1200 mg yellow lacquer (E104) — tablets of 800 mg talc propylene glycol titanium dioxide
in a contour acheikova package 5 or 10 PCs carton pack of 4 or 12 packs (5 tab.) or 2 or 6 packs (10 tabl.)
Pharmacological action:
Stimulates metabolic processes in the brain, increases the concentration of ATP increases the biosynthesis of RNA and phospholipids, glycolytic processes, the utilization of glucose. Improves integrative brain activity, promotes memory consolidation, eases the process of learning.
Indications:
Cerebrovascular accident, comatose and subcomittee state (after traumas and poisoning), diseases of the Central nervous system, accompanied by lowering of intellectual and memory functions, depression, psycho-organic syndrome with predominance of symptoms of fatigue and weakness, relief of withdrawal symptoms, pre - and delirious States in alcoholism and drug addiction, alcohol poisoning, morphine, etc.
Contraindications:
Acute renal failure, the age up to 1 year.
Application of pregnancy and breast-feeding:
Contraindicated (especially in the first trimester of pregnancy).
Side effects:
From the nervous system and sensory organs: irritability, anxiety, sleep disturbance.
Other: dyspepsia, exacerbation of angina (in patients older).
Method of application and dose:
Inside, regardless of meals, drinking plenty of fluids. The daily dose — 30-160 mg/kg, reception frequency — 2-4 times per day.
For symptomatic treatment of chronic psychoorganic set of symptoms, depending on the severity of symptoms, designate 1, 2-2, 4 g, and in the first week of treatment, 4, 8 g/day.
In the treatment of stroke — 4, 8 g/day.
When alcohol withdrawal syndrome — 12 g/day. Maintenance dose — 2, 4 g/day.
Treatment of vertigo and related disorders of equilibrium — 2, 4-4, 8 g/day.
Children (for the correction of lower learning) — 3, 3 g/day for the entire school year.
When cortical myoclonia initial dose of 7, 2 g/day every 3-4 days dose is increased by 4, 8 g/day to maximum dose of 24 g/day. The treatment continues throughout the period of illness. Every 6 months trying to dose reduction or drug withdrawal. To prevent development of an attack reduce the dose gradually to 1 to 2 g every 2 days. With no effect or negligible therapeutic effects of the treatment.
In sickle cell anemia daily prophylactic dose of 160 mg/kg, divided into 4 equal doses.
Dosing patients with impaired renal function. Since piracetam is excreted by the kidneys, caution should be exercised when treating patients with renal insufficiency and in accordance with this dosing regimen (see table).

Elderly patients the dose is adjusted if they have renal failure. Prolonged therapy requires monitoring of the functional state of the kidneys.
Dosing patients with impaired liver function. A dose adjustment is not necessary.
Patients with impaired liver and kidney, dosing is carried out according to the scheme prescribed for patients with impaired renal function.
