PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Immunity in vaccinated animals occurs 20 to 30 days after the second vaccination and persists for at least 12 months from the first administration of the vaccine.

INDICATIONS

With dermatophytosis of cats, the causative agents of which are fungi of the genera Trichophyton and Microsporum.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

Prophylactic and therapeutic vaccine target of Polyvak-TM applied intramuscularly in shinaberry muscles at the following doses: domestic cats aged 1 - 5 months-prophylactic -- 1 ml, medical -- 1.5 ml over 5 months -- with the preventive purpose-1.5 ml, medical -- 2 ml. For therapeutic purposes, Polyvak-TM uses a TLD and a three-time administration of the vaccine at intervals of 10 to 14 days. The skin at the injection site is disinfected with 70 % ethyl alcohol or 0.5 % carbolic acid solution. Syringes and needles are sterilized by boiling before use, and a separate needle is used to vaccinate each animal. To accelerate the rejection of crusts, the affected areas of the skin are recommended to be treated with softening agents - fish oil, lanolin, used in medicine and veterinary medicine. Before use, the vial or ampoule with the vaccine is shaken. Before applying the Polyvak-TM vaccine, all cat populations should be clinically examined. Given that the introduction of the Polyvak-TM vaccine to animals in the incubation period of the disease accelerates the clinical manifestation of dermatomycosis, it is necessary to carry out general vaccination in therapeutic doses in nurseries and other enterprises that are not affected by dermatomycosis. In weak, emaciated cats, in cats with metabolic disorders and affected by ectoparasites, the preventive and therapeutic effectiveness of the Polyvak-TM vaccine is reduced. Regrouping and transportation of animals in dermatomycosis-free kennels and other enterprises is allowed without restriction after 14 days of vaccination. All newly arrived animals are vaccinated during their quarantine period. After the end of vaccinations, an act is drawn up indicating the date, the number of immunized animals, the epizootic state of the farm, the number of the vaccine series, the expiration date and date of manufacture, the manufacturer, as well as the persons who carried out the vaccination. The act also indicates the amount of biological product and disinfectant used for vaccination.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

No special precautions are provided.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

It is not allowed to vaccinate animals with high fever and patients with infectious diseases.

SIDE EFFECTS

When vaccinating healthy cats, there are no changes in the clinical condition. In some individuals, there is a slight swelling and inflammation at the site of administration of the vaccine, which spontaneously disappears without medical intervention after 3 to 4 days. When vaccinating animals that are in the incubation period of the disease, vaccination accelerates the manifestation of the clinical picture of dermatomycosis with the appearance of multiple foci of a superficial nature. Animals that have shown clinical signs of the disease should be given a therapeutic dose of the vaccine, and in particularly severe cases, the vaccine should be administered 3 to 4 times. The interval between injections of the vaccine is 10-14 days.
