Containing oxime and praziquantel as active ingredients of milbemycin, as well as auxiliary components. They are produced in the form of tablets for kittens and young cats with a content of 4 mg of milbemycin oxime and 10 mg of praziquantel in 1 tablet. In appearance, it is an elongated tablet with beveled edges and a transverse notch on one side. Tablets for kittens and young cats are covered with a pink shell. Pack 2 tablets in foil blisters, which are packed in cardboard boxes.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Milbemycin oxime and praziquantel exhibit synergistic effects and, in combination, have a wide spectrum of action on larval and sexually mature forms of nematodes and cestodes. Milbemycin oxime, which is part of the drug, belongs to the group of macrocyclic lactones released as a result of the enzymatic activity of Streptomyces hygroscopicus var. Aureolacrimosus. Milbemycin oxime is active against nematodes that parasitize the gastrointestinal tract of cats, as well as the larvae of the nematode Dirofilaria immitis. The mechanism of action of milbemycin is due to an increase in the permeability of cell membranes to chlorine ions, which leads to overpolarization of the membranes of nerve and muscle tissue cells, paralysis and death of the parasite. The maximum concentration of milbemycin oxime in the blood plasma is reached after 2 hours. The compound is mainly excreted unchanged from the body, the half-life is about 13 hours after oral administration of the drug. Praziquantel is an acylated derivative of pyrazine-isoquinoline, has a pronounced effect against cestodes and nematodes. By increasing the permeability of the parasite's cell membranes to calcium ions, it causes membrane depolarization, muscle contraction, and the destruction of the tegument, which leads to the death of the parasite and promotes its excretion from the animal's body. The maximum concentration of praziquantel in the blood plasma is reached after 1 hour. From the body, the compound is excreted mainly in the form of inactive metabolites in the urine, the half-life is about 3 hours after oral administration of the drug. Milbemax belongs to the group of moderately dangerous compounds for warm-blooded animals, in the recommended doses it does not have a sensitizing, embryotoxic and teratogenic effect. It is well tolerated by cats of different breeds and ages. The drug is toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms.

INDICATIONS
