The composition and form of issue: 

Gel for external application, 1 g contains:

piroxicam 5 mg

excipients: propylene glycol isopropanol cetiol hypromellose sodium metabisulphite sodium hydroxide potassium dihydrogen phosphate distilled water 

in tubes of 35 or 50 grams in a cardboard bundle 1 tuba.

Description of dosage form:

Transparent or slightly opalescent gel light yellow color with a faint odor of isopropyl alcohol.

Description of the pharmacological action:

Non-selectively inhibits COX 1 and 2.

Indications:

  • Pain syndrome
  • ankylosing spondylitis
  • osteoarthrosis
  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • juvenile chronic arthritis
  • tendonitis
  • tendovaginitis
  • frozen shoulder syndrome
  • sports injuries (bruises, dislocations, ligament damage).

Contraindications:

  • hypersensitivity to piroxicam or other components of the drug
  • hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or to other NSAIDs
  • pregnancy (III trimester)
  • renal failure
  • the age of 14.

With caution:

  • bronchial asthma
  • allergic rhinitis
  • recurrent polyposis of the nose and paranasal sinuses
  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or chronic pulmonary infection.

Application during pregnancy and breast-feeding:

Finalgel should be used with caution during I and II trimester of pregnancy.

Piroxicam in small quantities can penetrate into breast milk, so it is not recommended to use the drug during breastfeeding.

Side effect:

Local skin irritation (inflammation, redness, urticaria, itching, peeling) local allergic reactions.

Drug interaction:

It is not known.

Method of application and doses:

Externally, adults and children over 14 years — 1 g gel (approximately the size of hazelnuts) 3-4 times a day. The gel should be applied to the skin over the affected area and lightly rubbed. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of symptoms and averages 2-3 weeks with tendinitis, tendovaginitis and shoulder syndrome and 1-2 weeks with sports injuries.

Overdose:

Symptoms: when applying the drug in doses exceeding the recommended, in isolated cases, the occurrence of systemic side effects is not excluded: headache disorders from the digestive tract (nausea, pain in the epigastric region) shortness of breath.

A single case of interstitial nephritis with functional renal failure and nephrotic syndrome is described.

Treatment: symptomatic.

In case of symptoms of overdose, the drug should be canceled and consult a doctor.

Special instruction:

Patients suffering from bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, recurrent nasal polyposis and paranasal sinuses, COPD or chronic pulmonary infections are usually more sensitive to the use of NSAIDs. In these patients, asthma attacks may become more frequent, mucosal edema and urticaria may appear.

You should avoid applying the gel on the damaged skin and hit him in the eye.

Shelf life:

After opening the tube-6 months.
