The composition and form of issue:

Syrup 100 g contains:

lactulose 66, 7 g

auxiliary substances: citric acid, flavoring (No. 7 bis) 

in dark glass bottles of 200 ml, complete with measuring Cup in cardboard pack 1 set.

Description pharmaceutical form:

Clear, colorless or light yellow with brownish tint, syrupy liquid with a characteristic sweet smell.

Pharmacokinetics:

Absorbance is low, is discharged through the intestine unchanged (excretion by the kidneys — 3%).

Description pharmacological action:

Having hyperosmotic, gipoammoniemicescoe, laxative effect, stimulates peristalsis, improves the absorption of phosphates and calcium salts.

Under the influence of the drug there is a change in the flora of the large intestine (the increase in the number of lactobacilli), which leads to increased acidity in the lumen of the large intestine and stimulates peristalsis. Along with this increased volume and softening the stool. As a result, the drug has a laxative effect without having any impact directly to the mucous membrane and the smooth muscles of the colon. Under the action of the drug induces the migration of ammonia from blood into the intestine, reducing the formation of nitrogen-containing toxic substances in its proximal part and, respectively, suction them into the system of the Vena cava. The effect occurs within 24-48 hours after admission (delayed due to the passage of the drug through the gastrointestinal tract).

Has the ability to inhibit the growth of Salmonella in the large intestine. Does not reduce absorption of vitamins and not addictive.

Indications:

  • chronic constipation
  • regulation chair with haemorrhoids, need surgery on the colon and in the anus, in the postoperative period
  • hepatic precoma and coma, hepatic encephalopathy, hyperammonemia
  • dysbacteriosis, salmonellosis (with the exception of generalized forms)
  • syndrome of putrefactive dyspepsia in children of early age as a result of food poisoning.

Contraindications:

  • hypersensitivity
  • galactose intolerance or fructose
  • galactosemia
  • bowel obstruction
  • rectal bleeding, Colo, ileostomy
  • a suspected appendicitis.

Caution: diabetes.

Side effects:

Flatulence, nausea, diarrhea, long-term treatment due to diarrhea — disruption of water and electrolyte metabolism: headache, dizziness, arrhythmia, myalgia, fatigue, weakness.

Drug interactions:

Antibiotics and antacids reduce the effect. Alters the pH-dependent release enteric-soluble drugs. Should not take lactulose during the 2 h after administration of other drugs.

Method of application and dose:

Inside, after eating.

For constipation: adults: first 3 days — 15-40 ml/day, then 10-25 ml/day children over 6 years — in the first 3 days of 15 ml/day, then 10 ml/day, 1-6 years — 5-10 ml/day, up to 1 year — 5 ml/day. The duration of treatment from 4 weeks to 3-4 months.

In hepatic coma, precoma, encephalopathy and hyperammoniemia: the initial dose is 30-60 ml 3 times a day. Then the dose is selected so that upholstered chair was 2-3 times a day. Treatment may last up to 3 months (or more).

In the postoperative period: adults: 10-30 ml 3 times a day, children over 1 year — on 5-10 ml 2-3 times a day, up to 1 year — 5 ml 2-3 times a day. The drug is prescribed through 18-24 hours after the surgery for 3-5 days.

Special instructions:

Long-term use of the drug (more than 6 months) should regularly monitor the level of potassium, chlorine and carbon dioxide in blood plasma.

When gastrocardiac syndrome should gradually increase the dose, to avoid flatulence.
