Pharmacotherapeutic group

Neuroprotective drugs

Cerebrolysat - cerebral hydrolyzate cattle contains free amino acids and peptides. Amino acid composition of cerebrolysat varies within the following limits in milligrams per milliliter (mg / ml): L-lysine - 1,9 ± 0,95, L-histidine, - 0,6 ± 0,30, L-arginine - 1,7 ± 0 90, aspartic acid, - 1,8 ± 0,80, L-threonine - 1.4 ± 0.70, serine - 2,3 ± 0,95, L-glutamic acid - 5,0 ± 1,25, L alanine - 3,5 ± 1,75, L-proline - 0.50 ± 1.2, glycine - 1,4 ± 0,70, L-valine - 2,7 ± 1,35, L-methionine - 1 3 ± 0,65, L-leucine - 4,0 ± 2,00, L-phenylalanine - 1.0 ± 0.50, isoleucine - 2.2 ± 1.40, tyrosine - 0.4 ± 0.25 .

ATC code: N06BX.

Cerebrolysat enhances protein synthesis in nerve cells, increases resistance to brain tissue intoxication, hypoxia, hypoglycemia, mechanical trauma. The drug activates the integrative processes in the central nervous system, improves concentration, memory processes and information playback.

The pharmacokinetic analysis is difficult due to the complex composition of cerebrolysat, including the amount of free amino acids and peptides.

Cerebrolysat  is used in adult patients with impaired cortical functions of the central nervous system caused by disorders of cerebral circulation, with vascular encephalopathy in patients with post-traumatic asthenic syndrome.

Dosing and dosing regimen

The drug is administered by a doctor.

Cerebrolysat administered intramuscularly at 1-5 ml daily or every other day, a course of treatment - 20-30 injections.

After a 3-6 month break of cerebrolysat treatment course can be repeated.

Special instructions

Pregnancy and lactation: special studies safety of cerebrolysat during pregnancy and lactation have not been conducted. There are indications on the undesirability of the drug in the I trimester of pregnancy.

Side effect

Injections of the drug are painful, and in some cases it is possible tissue irritation at the injection site. In hypertensive disease II-III during the treatment may occur cerebrolysat blood pressure.

Relative contraindications for cerebrolysat is the presence of allergic reactions in the anamnesis. In these cases, administration of the preparation is carried out under the direct supervision of a physician.

Precautionary measures

Particular caution should be exercised when used in patients with acute renal failure. Be wary prescribers with allergic diathesis, large seizures.
