The composition and form of issue:
Ointment. 100 g contains:
Cobra venom ordinary, dry, mouse units of action (MED) 12
methyl salicylate 4 g
camphor 3 g
eucalyptus oil 2 g
(equivalent to 1, 4 g of cineole)
excipients: vaseline — 81 g beeswax — 10 g
the aluminum tube 10, and 20 g in a cardboard bundle 1 tuba.
Description pharmaceutical form:
White with a slightly yellowish homogeneous ointment, with a characteristic odor of methyl salicylate, camphor and eucalyptus oil.
Pharmacological action:
It has analgesic (distracting) effect. Irritation of the sensory receptors of the skin and subsequent absorption of highly active substances (histamine, enzymes, organic acids) contribute to the expansion of blood vessels, improve the trophic of underlying tissues, what determines the analgesic effect of the drug.
Indications:
Arthritis different etiology, neuralgia, myalgia, sciatica, lumbago, and other diseases of musculoskeletal system, accompanied by pain syndrome.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the drug, diseases of the skin and mechanical damage to the skin at the site of application of ointment, active pulmonary tuberculosis, fevers, cachexia, severe cerebrovascular insufficiency, propensity to vasospasm, expressed by human liver and kidneys, pregnancy, breastfeeding.
Application of pregnancy and breast-feeding:
Contraindicated in pregnancy. At the time of treatment should stop breastfeeding.
Side effects:
In individual cases allergic reactions of the skin (redness, itching, rash) that disappear after drug discontinuation.
Method of application and dose:
Locally, 5-10 g (1-2 tsp) of ointment applied to the skin painful areas 1 time a day and RUB into the skin. At strong painful feelings — 2 times a day until the disappearance of pain syndrome. The course of treatment is not more than 10 days (without consulting a doctor).
Special instructions:
If you experience any adverse reactions, discontinue the drug and consult a doctor.
After application of the ointment should be thoroughly wash hands.
Not recommended for use in children without consulting a doctor.
Avoid getting the ointment on open wounds and mucous membranes. When getting ointment into the eyes, wash with plenty of water.
