Pharmacological action

Mexidol ® FORTE 250 is an inhibitor of free radical processes, a membrane protector with antihypoxic, stress-protective, nootropic, antiepileptic and anxiolytic effects. It belongs to the class of 3-hydroxypyridines.

Indications of the drug Mexidol ® Forte 250

• consequences of acute cerebral circulatory disorders, including after transient ischemic attacks, in the subcompensation phase (as preventive courses);
• mild traumatic brain injury, consequences of traumatic brain injuries;
• encephalopathies of various origins (dyscirculatory, dysmetabolic, post-traumatic, mixed);
• the syndrome of vegetative dystonia;
• mild cognitive disorders of atherosclerotic origin;
• anxiety disorders in neurotic and neurosis-like conditions;
• Coronary artery disease (in the complex therapy);
• relief of withdrawal syndrome in alcoholism with a predominance of neurosis-like and vegetative-vascular disorders, post-withdrawal disorders;
• conditions after acute intoxication with antipsychotic drugs;
• asthenic conditions, as well as for the prevention of the development of somatic diseases under the influence of extreme factors and loads;
• the impact of extreme (stressful) factors.

The dosage regimen

The inside of 250 mg 3 times/day.

The initial dose is 250 mg (1 tab.) 1-2 times/day with a gradual increase until a therapeutic effect is obtained; the maximum daily dose is 750 mg (3 tab.).

The duration of treatment is 2-6 weeks; for the relief of alcohol withdrawal-5-7 days. The duration of the course of therapy in patients with CHD is not less than 1.5-2 months.

Repeated courses (on the recommendation of a doctor), it is advisable to conduct in the spring and autumn periods.

Contraindications to use

• acute disorders of liver and kidney function;
• increased individual sensitivity to the drug.

Due to insufficient knowledge of the drug's action - childhood, pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Mexidol ® FORTE 250 is contraindicated during pregnancy and during (breastfeeding).

Use in children

The use of the drug in childhood is contraindicated due to insufficient knowledge of the drug's action.
