Product form, composition and packaging
Vaginal gel white or almost white, opalescent, homogeneous.
1g contains:
metronidazole 10 mg
clotrimazole 20 mg
Excipients: methylhydroxybenzoate, propylhydroxybenzoate, dinatria edetate, propylene glycol, carbomer-940, benzyl alcohol, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

Pharmaco-therapeutic group: Antimicrobial combined agent (antimicrobial and anti-protozoan agent+antifungal agent)
Indications
- bacterial vaginosis of different etiology, confirmed by clinical and microbiological data,
- Candida vulvitis and vulvovaginitis,
- urogenital trichomoniasis.
Dosage regimen
The drug is administered intravaginally. The recommended dose is 5 g (one full applicator) 2 times/day (morning and evening). The course of treatment - 5 days. If necessary, the course of treatment can be repeated after 2 weeks.
Side effect
Local reactions: burning sensation or frequent urination, the sexual partner - burning sensation or irritation of the penis.
Systemic reactions: possible dizziness, headache, nausea, spastic abdominal pain.
Allergic reactions: skin rash, urticaria.
The patient should be warned to stop using the drug and consult a doctor in case of any undesirable side effects.
Contraindications to use
- leukopenia (including in history),
- organic lesion of the Central nervous system (including epilepsy),
- liver failure,
- I trimester of pregnancy,
- hypersensitivity to the drug components.
Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding
The drug is contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy. The use of the drug in the II and III trimester of pregnancy is possible only for strict medical reasons and under the supervision of a doctor (without the use of an applicator).
When prescribing the drug during lactation, it is necessary to stop breastfeeding.
Use in violation of liver function
Contraindicated in liver failure.
Special instruction
When using the drug, alcohol is contraindicated (it is possible to develop a disulfiram-like reaction: spastic abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, a sudden rush of blood to the face).
Metronidazole can immobilize Treponema and lead to a false positive Nelson test.
The drug is intended for intravaginal use only. Avoid contact with eyes.
During the course of therapy, it is necessary to refrain from sexual activity.
Overdose
Cases of drug overdose in the appointment of the recommended doses have not been observed.
Drug interaction
With simultaneous use of the drug increases the effect of indirect anticoagulants.
Not recommended for use with non-depolarizing muscle relaxants (vecuronium).
While the use of lithium drugs may increase the concentration of lithium in blood plasma.
Phenobarbital accelerates the metabolism of metronidazole by induction of microsomal liver enzymes, cimetidine - reduces.
Amphotericin B, nystatin, natamycin reduce the effectiveness of clotrimazole with simultaneous use.
With simultaneous use with ethanol, the drug can cause disulfiram-like reactions.
