The composition and form of issue:
1 tablet contains of biperiden hydrochloride 2 mg blister 10 or 20 PCs., in box 10, or 5 blisters respectively.
1 vial 1 ml solution for injection — biperiden lactate 5 mg in a box 5 PCs
Pharmacological action:
Blocks the Central m-cholinergic receptors inhibits m-cholinergic (mainly type M1) the transfer of excitation in the autonomic nervous system.
Indications:
Parkinson's syndrome, extrapyramidal disorders due to medications (neuroleptics).
Contraindications:
Angle-closure glaucoma, megacolon, and mechanical stenosis of the gastrointestinal tract. Relatively contraindicated in prostatic hypertrophy, tachyarrhythmias.
Application of pregnancy and breast-feeding:
Contraindicated.
Side effects:
Violation ccomodation, dry mouth, diarrhoea disorders, tachycardia, demotion AD fatigue, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion.
Drug interactions:
Enhances neurotrophic effects of anticholinergics, antihistamines, antiparkinson and anticonvulsant agents. Incompatible with alcohol. When co-administered with quinidine may increase anticholinergic action, with levodopa increases the risk of developing dyskinesia.
Method of application and dose:
Inside, in/in or/m. Dosage and frequency of administration are variable, and depend on the indications and patient's age.
Precautions:
To prevent side effects, the dose should be increased gradually to avoid abrupt discontinuation of the drug. During treatment is not recommended management of vehicles and mechanisms.
