DESCRIPTION

Enroflox 5% and 10% is an antibacterial drug based on enrofloxacin in the form of an injectable solution for the treatment of large and small cattle, pigs, as well as cats and dogs with diseases of bacterial and mycoplasma etiology.

STRUCTURE

The drug as an active substance contains: enrofloxacin - 50 and 100mg in 1 ml. The drug in appearance is a transparent solution of a yellowish color.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

The drug belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones. Inhibits the active enzyme gyrase, which takes part in the catalysis of the DNA of the microbial cell, resulting in a rapid bactericidal effect, especially on microorganisms resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics, tetracyclines, macrolides and aminoglycosides.

The drug is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms: Mycoplasma spp, E. coli, Salmonella spp, Campylobacter spp, Haemophilus spp, Pasteurella spp, Bordetella spp, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Klebsiella spp, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp. and others. The antibiotic suppresses the growth and reproduction of microorganisms.

INDICATIONS

Treatment of bronchopneumonia, enzootic pneumonia, colibacteriosis, salmonellosis and other diseases of large and small cattle and pigs caused by microorganisms sensitive to fluoroquinolones, infections of the respiratory and genitourinary systems, gastrointestinal tract of dogs and cats.

APPLICATION

Cattle (calves) – subcutaneously in a dose of 0.5-1 ml of the drug (equivalent to 25-50 mg of enrofloxacin) per 10 kg of body weight once a day for 3 days. In the treatment of salmonellosis or severe infections, the drug is used for 5 days. Do not apply more than 10 ml of injection to one injection site.

Pigs-intramuscularly at a dose of 0.5-1 ml of the drug (equivalent to 25-50 mg of enrofloxacin) per 10 kg of body weight once a day, for 3 days. In the treatment of salmonellosis or severe infections, the drug is used for 5 days. Do not use more than 2.5 ml of injection at one injection site.

Dogs-subcutaneously at a dose of 0.1 ml of the drug (equivalent to 5 mg of enrofloxacin) per 1 kg of body weight once a day for 5 days. If recovery does not occur within 3 days, the treatment should be reviewed.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

A contraindication is hypersensitivity to enrofloxacin. It should not be prescribed to animals that have cartilage growth disorders.

Do not apply to dogs and cats of small and medium breeds in the first 12 months of life, large breeds-the first 18 months. You should also avoid treatment with the drug in dogs with a history of epileptic seizures, nervous disorders. Do not use in pregnant or lactating animals. It is forbidden to use simultaneously with drugs of the tetracycline series, macrolides (erythromycin), chloramphenicol, theophylline.

SIDE EFFECTS

When used in the recommended doses, no side effects were detected.

Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 14 days after the last dose of the drug. Before the specified period, the meat is fed to unproductive animals or disposed of (depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian).

STORAGE

Store in a dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children and animals, separately from food and feed at a temperature of plus 5°C to plus 25°C. Shelf life under storage conditions is 3 years from the date of production.
