DESCRIPTION

Enroflox 10% is an antibacterial drug based on enrofloxacin in the form of a powder for oral use for the treatment of bacterial and mycoplasma infections of broilers and repair young poultry. In appearance, it is a light yellow powder.

As an active substance, 100 mg of enrofloxacin in 1 g.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Enrofloxacin, which is part of Enroflox 10%, belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones and has a wide spectrum of antibacterial action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, including E. coli, Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Pseudomonas spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Campylobacter spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Corynebacterium spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Clostridium spp., Bacteroides spp., Salmonella spp., Proteus spp., and Mycoplasma spp. The mechanism of action of enrofloxacin is to inhibit the activity of the enzyme gyrase, which affects the replication of the DNA helix in the nucleus of a bacterial cell.

It acts bactericidal on gram-negative microorganisms during dormancy and division, on gram-positive microorganisms - during division. When used orally, it is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into all organs and tissues. The maximum concentration of enrofloxacin in the blood is reached 1-2 hours after the use of the drug and is maintained at the therapeutic level for 18-24 hours.

Enrofloxacin is excreted from the body mainly in unchanged form, partially metabolized to ciprofloxacin and excreted in the urine and feces.

INDICATIONS

Enroflox 10% is used for broilers and repair young poultry for the treatment of colibacteriosis, salmonellosis, necrotic enteritis, streptococcosis, mycoplasmosis and other diseases caused by bacteria sensitive to fluoroquinolones.

APPLICATION

Apply orally in a mixture with feed at a dose of 100 mg of the drug per 1 kg of poultry body weight, which is 1 kg per 1000 kg of feed, for 3 days, and for salmonellosis-for 5 days.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

It is forbidden to use Enroflox 10% to laying hens, whose eggs are intended for human food.

SIDE EFFECTS

When using Enroflox 10% in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications are usually not noted. Symptoms of overdose in animals can be manifested by depression and impaired functions of the gastrointestinal tract.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

It is not allowed to use Enroflox 10% simultaneously with bacteriostatic antibiotics (tetracyclines, macrolides and levomycetin), theophiline, steroids, indirect anticoagulants.

Taking together with iron-containing medications and antacids containing magnesium, calcium and aluminum ions leads to a decrease in the absorption of enrofloxacin, so it should be prescribed 1-2 hours before or 4 hours after taking the above medications. Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 11 days after the last use of the drug.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

Store the medicinal product in the closed packaging of the manufacturer in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, separate from food and feed, at a temperature of 5°C to 25 °C.

The shelf life of the medicinal product under the conditions of storage in the closed packaging of the manufacturer is 3 years from the date of production. It is forbidden to use the drug after the expiration date.
