DESCRIPTION

Doxifin 50, 100 or 200mg is an antimicrobial drug that is a round biconvex tablet with a beige notch. The logo can be applied on one of the surfaces.

STRUCTURE

One tablet of Doxifin 50, 100 or 200mg contains 50, 100 or 200mg of doxycycline hydrochloride and a filler of up to 250, 500 or 1000mg.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Doxycycline hydrochloride, which is part of the drug, belongs to the semi-synthetic derivatives of oxytetracycline, has a bacteriostatic effect against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, such as: Actynomyces spp., Clostridium spp., Listeria spp., Staphylococcus spp., St1-eptococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Fusobacterium spp., Pasteurella spp., P1oteus spp., Leptospira spp., Mycoplasma spp., Chlamydia spp., Rickettsia spp., as well as Erlichia spp. and Babesia spp.

The mechanism of action of the drug is to suppress the synthesis of pathogen proteins due to the blockade of the binding of transport RNA with ribosomal complexes of information RNA.

After oral administration, doxycycline is rapidly absorbed, and maximum plasma concentrations are reached after 3 hours. The bioavailability of doxycycline with repeated oral administration of the drug is about 45%.

Doxycycline is excreted unchanged in the feces and urine. The average half-life is 8 hours.

PURPOSE

The drug is used to treat dogs and cats with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system, kidneys and urinary tract, dermatitis, ehrlichiosis, babesiosis, as well as associated infections caused by pathogens sensitive to doxycycline.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

The drug is given orally in a dose of 1 tablet per 5 kg of animal body weight (10 mg of doxycycline per kg of animal body weight), once a day for seven subsequent days. With ehrlichiosis of dogs, the duration of the drug is 28 days.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

When using the drug, vomiting may occur, and the administration of the drug during the development of teeth can lead to a change in the color of the tooth enamel.

When using doxifin, it is not recommended to take drugs containing calcium ions for two hours before and after its introduction into the body.

The drug can reduce the activity of prothrombin in plasma, and for animals that receive treatment with anticoagulants, it is necessary to select the dose of the drug individually. Doxifin should not be used in conjunction with penicillins or cephalosporins due to reduced antimicrobial activity.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use in pregnant women and animals with hypersensitivity to tetracyclines and liver diseases.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

The drug is stored according to list B, in the original packaging of the manufacturer, at a temperature of plus 15 °C to plus 30 °C, in a dry, cool, protected from light, inaccessible to children and pets.

Shelf life - 3 (three) years from the date of manufacture, subject to the rules of storage and transportation.
