DESCRIPTION

Amoxicillin 10% is an antibacterial drug in the form of a powder for oral use. In appearance, it is a fine powder of white or slightly cream color.

STRUCTURE

As the active substance, amoxicillin trihydrate. 1 g of the drug contains 100 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Amoxicillin, which is part of the drug, is a semi-synthetic antibiotic of the penicillin series. The mechanism of its action is to disrupt the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall by inhibiting the enzymes transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase, which leads to a violation of the osmotic balance and destruction of the bacterium. Amoxicillin has a wide spectrum of bactericidal action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, such as Actynomyces spp., Bacillus antracis, Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Actinobacillus spp., E. coli, Salmonella, Fusobacterium spp., Haemophilus spp., Moraxella spp., Pasteurella spp., Proteus mirabilis, and Leptospira spp. Amoxicillin is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is rapidly distributed in all organs and tissues of the body. It is excreted mainly in the urine and, to a lesser extent, in the bile.

INDICATIONS

For the treatment of bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal, respiratory and genitourinary tracts of young cattle, birds, pigs caused by microorganisms sensitive to amoxicillin.

DOSAGES AND APPLICATIONS

Apply to calves, piglets orally at a dose of 1-2 g per 10 kg of animal body weight in a mixture with drinking water or milk once a day until recovery, but not more than 7 days, poultry in the first decade of life 100 g per 400 liters of water, in subsequent periods 100 g per 200 liters of water for 3 to 5 days.

SIDE EFFECTS

In the recommended doses are not observed. With increased sensitivity of animals to beta-lactam antibiotics, various allergic reactions are possible, up to anaphylactic shock.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

It is forbidden to use the drug to rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. Do not use together with other bacteriostatic antibiotics (tetracycline, chloramphenicol, sulfonamides, etc.).

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Slaughter for animal meat is allowed 15 days after the last use of the drug. The meat of animals forcibly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals or for the production of meat and bone meal. When working with the drug, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety, provided for when working with veterinary drugs. It is forbidden to use the packaging of the drug for food purposes.
