Levomitsetin solution for external use

100 ml alcohol solution contains chloramphenicol 1 or 3 g

excipients: ethyl alcohol 70% to 100 ml.

in bottles of 25 ml.

Pharmacological action

Levomitsetin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. The mechanism of antimicrobial action is associated with a violation of the synthesis of proteins of microorganisms. Acts bacteriostatically. Active against gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.) and gram-negative cocci (Neisseria gonorrhoeae, N. meningitidis), bacteria (Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenza, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Serratia spp., Yersinia spp., Proteus spp.), rickettsiae, spirochaetes, some large viruses. The drug is active against strains resistant to penicillin, streptomycin, sulfanilamidam. Resistance of microorganisms to chloramphenicol develops relatively slowly.

Indications

Bacterial infections of the skin caused by sensitive microorganisms, including infected burns (superficial and deep), bedsores, trophic ulcers, wounds, boils.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance, pregnancy and lactation, oppression kostnomozgovy blood, acute intermittent porphyria, deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, hepatic, renal failure, skin diseases (fungal infections, psoriasis, eczema). With caution-the period of newborn, (up to 4 weeks.) and early childhood, previously treated with cytostatic drugs or radiation therapy.
