The composition and form of issue:
1 tablet contains chloramphenicol 0, 25 or 0, 5 g in a pack of 10 PCs.
Pharmacological action:
Disrupts protein synthesis in microbial cells.
Indications:
Typhoid fever, paratyphoid, dysentery, brucellosis, tularemia, whooping cough, pneumonia, gonorrhoea, trachoma, psittacosis and other infectious diseases.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, inhibition of hematopoiesis, psoriasis, eczema, fungal skin diseases, pregnancy.
Side effect:
Dyspepsia, irritation of the oral mucosa and throat, leukopenia, agranulocytosis, allergic reactions.
Drug interaction:
Incompatible with cytostatics, sulfonamides, pyrazolone derivatives.
Method of application and doses:
Inside, 20-30 minutes before meals-0, 25-0, 75 g 3-4 times a day, the highest daily dose-3 g. Single dose for children under 3 years-0, 01-0, 015 g/kg, 3-8 years — 0, 15-0, 2 g, older than 8 years — 0, 2-0, 3 g 3-4 times a day. The course of treatment — 8-10 days.
