Description of dosage form:

Tablets for resorption: round, red, slightly transparent.

Characteristic:

Combined antibacterial preparation for topical application in the oral cavity and pharynx.

Pharmacological action:

Both formulations are composed of three active substances — 2, 4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, amylmetacresol and levomenthol. 2, 4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol is a derivative of benzene, amylmetacresol — phenol. Levomenthol is a cyclical monoterpenes.

Neo-Angin N has antiseptic and slight local anesthetic action, because of the combination of three active ingredients: 2, 4-dihlorbenzilovy alcohol, amylmetacresol and levomenthol. Antiseptics are active against pathogenic microorganisms that infect the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and pharynx.

The most common pathogens that cause pharyngitis are such gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria like staphylococci, pneumococci, fuzobakterii, and especially Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus influenzae, Branhamella catarrhalis. Occasionally pathogens are pathogenic fungi, yeast fungi, in particular — Candida albicans.

As a result of infection of the oral mucosa and pharynx there are different types of inflammation with symptoms of colds, stomatitis, candidiasis, gingivitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis and angina.

The main effect of 2, 4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmethacresol is due to the activity on the surface of the mucosa, both substances interact with the lipids of the cell membranes, which explains the effectiveness against bacteria and fungi.

Levomentol complements the action of two other active substances and has a small anesthetic effect, based on the stimulation of cold receptors of the mucous membrane.

Having three active components, the drug neo-Angin H is used to treat infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx. The drug allows for effective early treatment, thereby reducing the need for antibiotics. Neo-Angin n reduces the symptoms of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx.

The drug is well tolerated and has a pleasant taste.

Based on many years of experience in the practical use of the drug, it was shown that there is no decrease in its effectiveness against pathogens in the long-term use of the drug.

The active components of the drug cause a local antiseptic and a small local anesthetic effect when the tablet slowly dissolves in the mouth. The adhesion of the active components on the mucosa contributes to the prolongation of the action on the mucosa.

All components of the drug are quickly absorbed and quickly removed.

Metabolite 2, 4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol is 2, 4-dichlorobenzoic acid, which is excreted by the kidneys as an acid or as a glycine compound. Amylmetacresol is oxidized to acid and excreted through the kidneys as glucuronide. Levomenthol excreted in the urine as glucuronide.

Indications:

Prevention and treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx (pharyngitis, laryngitis, uncomplicated forms of angina, stomatitis, gingivitis), accompanied by sharp pain in the throat, difficulty swallowing.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active and auxiliary components of the drug, children (up to 6 years).

The drug is not prescribed to patients with glucose-galactose malabsorption.
