Composition
Sporobacterin is a suspension of biomass of the living bacilli Bacillus subtilis 534, white or slightly yellow color with a specific smell and a salty taste on standing formed a loose sediment of different shades from white to light brown color, breaking with shaking.

Pharmacological action
Bacteria of the strain Bacillus subtilis 534 secrete an antibacterial substance broad-spectrum, the vast development of pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic bacteria. The growth of saprophytes, including the normal intestinal flora, Sporobacterin is not oppressed.
Culture of the strain Bacillus subtilis 534 produces other different kinds of physiologically active substances such as proteolytic enzymes, lysozyme, lipase, amylase and other, contributing to the breakdown of carbohydrates, fats and proteins, participating in digestion and assimilation of food. Additionally, the enzymes of bacteria help cleanse wounds, inflammatory lesions of necrotic tissue. The drug has a pronounced stimulating effect on the absorptive and digestive activity of phagocytic blood cells.
Testimony
Sporobacterin is prescribed to children older than 1 year and adults:
for the treatment of acute bacterial intestinal infections, including acute dysentery, salmonellosis, etc.
for the treatment of dysbacteriosis after suffering bacterial infections the use of antibiotics,
for the treatment of surgical infection of soft tissues,
for the treatment of osteomyelitis ( in the absence of a large sequestrum),
for the prevention and treatment of complications caused by pathogenic and conditionally-pathogenic microorganisms in surgical and obstetric operations.
Contraindications
The drug should be used with caution in drug Allergy.
The effect of the drug on pregnant women has not been studied.
Method of application and doses
Treatment of acute intestinal infections:
children 1 to 3 years - 0.5 ml 2 times a day
children above 3 years and adults - 1 ml 2 times a day for 7-10 days
Treatment of dysbacteriosis of various etiologies:
children - 0.5 ml 2 times a day for 20 days
adults - 1 ml 2 times a day for 20 days.
For treatment of surgical infections Sporobacterin administered 1 ml 2 times a day for 7-10 days.
For prophylaxis of purulent-septic complications in the postoperative period the drug is prescribed 5 ml of 1 times a day (at night) for 5 days before surgery and 5 ml of 1 times a day (at night) for 5 days after surgery or injury.
The simultaneous use of antibiotics and sulfonamides may reduce the therapeutic efficacy of Sporobacterin.
If necessary, the treatment can be repeated.
Before taking Sporobacterin diluted in 10-fold volume of cooled boiled water.
Sporobacterin take 30-40 minutes before eating.
Side effects
In rare cases you may experience side effects in the form of fever, rashes on the skin. When you reduce the dosage or remove the drug these phenomena are fully cropped during the day.
Storage conditions
Keep at temperature from 0 to 8°C.
Opened vial can be stored in the refrigerator for 10 days.
Shelf life
2 years.
