Description pharmaceutical form:

Lozenges from white to almost white color, valium forms, with valium and chamfer.

On the flat side with the mark affixed MATERIA MEDICA, on the other flat side of ANAFERON.

Description pharmacological action:

Prophylactic and therapeutic use of the drug has immunomodulatory and antiviral effect. Effective against flu viruses (including bird flu), parainfluenza, herpes simplex viruses 1-St and 2-nd type (labially herpes, genital herpes), other herpes viruses (chickenpox, infectious mononucleosis), enteroviruses, tick-borne encephalitis virus, rotavirus, coronavirus, calicivirus, adenovirus, RS (respiratory Intellinova) virus. Reduces the concentration of viruses in the affected tissues, influences on the system of endogenous interferons and related cytokines, induces the formation of endogenous "early" interferons (IFN &alpha/&beta) and gamma interferon (IFN-&gamma).

It stimulates the humoral and cellular immune response. Increases the production of antibodies (including secretory IgA), activates the function of T-effectors and T-helpers (Tx) and normalizes their ratio. Increases functional reserve Tx and other cells involved in the immune response. Is inducer of mixed-Tx1 - and Tx2-type immune response: it increases the production of cytokines Tx1 (IFN-&gamma, IL-2) and Tx2 (IL-4, 10), normalizes (modulates) the balance Tx1/Tx2-activity. Increases the functional activity of phagocytes and EK-cells (natural killers). Has antimutagenic properties.

Indications:

• prevention and treatment of SARS (including flu)
  
• complex therapy of infections caused by herpes viruses (infectious mononucleosis, varicella, labialis herpes, genital herpes)
  
• complex therapy and prevention of relapses of chronic herpes-viral infection, including labeling and genital herpes
  
• complex therapy and prophylaxis of other acute and chronic viral infections caused by tick-borne encephalitis virus, enterovirus, rotavirus, coronavirus, calicivirus
  
• application in complex therapy of bacterial infections
  
• complex therapy of secondary immunodeficiency of various etiologies, including the prevention and treatment of complications of viral and bacterial infections.
  

Contraindications:

• increased individual sensitivity to product components
  
• children and persons under 18 years of age (shown by the use of the drug Anaferon for children).
  

Application of pregnancy and breast-feeding:

Safety of Anaferon in pregnancy and lactation has not been studied. If necessary, the drug should be taken into account, the ratio risk/benefit.

Side effects:

When using the drug on these indications and dosages of these side effects have been identified. Possible hypersensitivity reactions to the drug components.

Drug interactions:

No incompatibilities with other drugs to date not been identified. If necessary, the drug can be combined with other antiviral, antibacterial and symptomatic drugs.

Method of application and dose:

Sublingual, single dose — 1 table. outside meals (hold in mouth until dissolved).

SARS, influenza, intestinal infections, herpes virus infection, neuroinfections. Treatment should begin as early as possible — at the first signs of acute viral infection, according to the following scheme: first 2 hours — 1 table. then every 30 min during the first day — even 3 doses at equal intervals of time. 2 days and then take 1 tab. 3 times a day until complete recovery. If no improvement in 3 day treatment, you should consult a doctor. If necessary, the preventive purpose — 1 table. daily for 1-3 months.

Genital herpes. In acute manifestations of genital herpes are taking equal intervals of time according to the following scheme: 1-3 day — 1 table. 8 times a day, then 1 tab. 4 times a day for at least 3 weeks. For relapse prevention — 1 table. a day. The recommended duration of preventive course is determined individually and can reach 6 months.

In the use of the drug for the treatment and prevention of immunodeficiencies and in the complex therapy of bacterial infections — take 1 table. a day.

Overdose:

Cases of overdose up to the present time not registered.

In case of accidental overdose dyspepsia caused by members of the drug fillers.

Special instructions:

The preparation includes lactose, and therefore it is not recommended to appoint patients with congenital galactosemia, syndrome of malabsorption of glucose or congenital lactase deficiency.
