The composition and form of issue:

Ear drops 20%, 1 vial contains:

choline salicylate 2 g

excipients: glycerol — 0, 13 g ethanol 96% — 0, 1 g of chlorobutanol — 0, 005 g purified water to 1 g 

in polyethylene bottles of 10 g with dosing unit in carton of 1 vial.

Description pharmaceutical form:

A clear solution of yellowish color with a characteristic odor.

Description pharmacological action:

Choline salicylate is a derivative of salicylic acid, has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects associated with inhibition of synthesis of PG. Applied topically 20% solution relieves or moderately alleviate the pain.

Indications:

Acute catarrhal inflammation of the external auditory canal (including bacterial infection), tympanic membrane and middle ear before washing the external auditory canal.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to salicylates or other NSAIDs (including aspirin asthma), perforation of the eardrum.

Application of pregnancy and breast-feeding:

Given the nature of drug action and the potential danger caused by salicylates is not recommended the use of the drug during pregnancy and the breastfeeding period.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions with prolonged use and in patients with perforation of the eardrum can occur hearing.

Method of application and dose:

Adults are usually 3-4 drops into the ear canal 3-4 times a day.

The drops should be instilled into the ear, placing the patient on her side after the procedure the patient should remain in this position for several minutes.

Precautions:

Derivatives of salicylic acid when injected into the middle ear through the damaged eardrum can cause hearing loss or deafness. In this regard, the drug should not be used without prior inspection otolaryngologist.

It is recommended to limit the use of the drug to the necessary minimum.
