Indications:
- Diabetes mellitus type II in adults (in case of ineffectiveness of diet therapy).
Dosage:
- Patients who do not receive insulin, in the first 3 days appoint 500 mg 3 times a day or 1 g 2 times a day during or after meals. From the 4th day to the 14th day-1 g 3 times a day. After day 15, the dose of Glucophage is adjusted based on blood sugar and the presence of glucose in the urine. The maintenance dose ranges from 100 mg to 200 mg per day. Glucophage in the form of retard tablets is usually used for maintenance therapy.
Contraindications:
- impaired liver and kidney function
- planned operation
- hypersensitivity to the drug Glucophage
