Pharmacokinetics:

It is practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. After accidental ingestion of 300 mg, Cmax is reached after 30 minutes and is 0, 206 mcg/l. It is excreted mainly with fecal masses (90%), less than 1% - by the kidneys. With intravaginal application, it is practically not absorbed, it does not have a systemic effect.

Description of the pharmacological action:

For vaginal suppositories

It is active against protozoa, gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria: Treponema pallidum, Trichomonas vaginalis, Chlamydia spp., Ureaplasma spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides fragilis. Some strains of Pseudomonas spp., Proteus spp. are slightly sensitive to the drug, as well as acid-resistant forms of bacteria, bacterial spores are resistant. Hexicon does not interfere with the functional activity of lactobacilli. It retains activity (although somewhat reduced) in the presence of blood, pus.

For a solution for external use

It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria: Treponema pallidum, Chlamydia spp., Ureaplasma spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides fragilis, protozoa (Trichomonas vaginalis), herpes viruses, yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida, dermatophytes (pathogens of favus (scab), microsporia, rubrophytia, trichophytia, epidermophytia). It retains activity (although somewhat reduced) in the presence of blood, pus. When applied to the skin and mucous membranes, it has a bactericidal effect.

Indications:

General for vaginal suppositories and solution for external use:

  • prevention of sexually transmitted infections (syphilis, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, chlamydia, ureaplasmosis, genital herpes, etc.).

For Hexicon vaginal suppositories (optional):

  • itching of the vulva
  • prevention of infectious and inflammatory complications in obstetrics and gynecology (before surgical treatment of gynecological diseases, before childbirth and abortion, before and after the installation of an intrauterine device, before and after diathermocoagulation of the cervix, before intrauterine examinations)
  • exo-and endocervicitis, vaginitis (including nonspecific, mixed, trichomonas)
  • treatment of bacterial vaginosis.

For vaginal suppositories Hexicon D (optional):

  • treatment of colpitis (including non-specific, mixed, gonorrhea, trichomonas), bacterial vaginosis
  • prevention of infectious and inflammatory complications in pediatric gynecology (before surgical treatment of gynecological diseases).

For a solution for external use (optional):

  • disinfection of purulent wounds, infected burn surfaces
  • infections of the skin and mucous membranes in surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, urology (urethritis, urethroprostatitis)
  • in dentistry (rinsing, irrigation or applications) for gingivitis, stomatitis, aphthae, periodontitis, alveolitis.

Allergic reactions, itching are possible. They pass after the drug is discontinued.

Allergic reactions, itching, dry skin, dermatitis, stickiness of the skin of the hands (for 3-5 minutes), photosensitization. In the treatment of gingivitis — staining of tooth enamel, deposition of tartar, violation of taste.

Drug interaction:

Common for all dosage forms

It is incompatible with detergents containing an anionic group (saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose). Simultaneous use with iodine is not recommended.

For vaginal suppositories

Incompatible with soaps (with intravaginal administration).

The toilet of the external genitalia does not affect the effectiveness and tolerability of the vaginal suppositories Hexicon and Hexicon D, since the drug is used intravaginally.

For a solution for external use

The presence of soap can inactivate chlorhexidine, so before using the drug, the soap residues must be thoroughly washed off. Ethanol enhances the effectiveness of the drug.

Method of administration and dosage:

Hexicon

Intravaginal, intraurethral, external, local.

Vaginal suppositories. For treatment — 1 supp. 2 times a day. The course of treatment is 7-10 days, if necessary, it is possible to extend the course of treatment up to 20 days. For the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases-1 supp., no later than 2 hours after sexual intercourse.

Solution for external use. For the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, Hexicon is effective if it is applied no later than 2 hours after sexual intercourse.

The contents of the bottle should be inserted into the urethra of men (2-3 ml), women (1-2 ml) and into the vagina (5-10 ml) with the help of a nozzle and held for 2-3 minutes.

Treat the skin of the inner surfaces of the thighs, pubis, genitals with a solution. After the procedure, do not urinate for 2 hours.

Complex treatment of urethritis and urethroprostatitis is carried out by injecting 2-3 ml of Hexicon solution into the urethra 1-2 times a day, the course is 10 days. The procedures are prescribed every other day.

Hexicon solution is also used in the form of irrigation, rinsing and applications — 5-10 ml of the solution is applied to the affected surface of the skin or mucous membranes with an exposure of 1-3 minutes 2-3 times a day (on a tampon or by irrigation).

For stomatitis, gingivitis, periodontitis, it is recommended to rinse the oral cavity with 5-10 ml of the drug, 3-4 times a day.

Hexicon D

Intravaginal.

For treatment — 1 supp. 2 times a day. The course of treatment is 7-10 days, if necessary, it is possible to extend the course of treatment up to 20 days. For the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases-1 supp., no later than 2 hours after sexual intercourse.

Special instructions:

It is necessary to avoid getting the solution inside the wound in patients with open TBI, spinal cord injuries, perforation of the eardrum.

If the solution or gel gets on the mucous membranes of the eye, they should be quickly and thoroughly rinsed with water.

The ingress of hypochlorite bleaching agents on tissues that were previously in contact with preparations containing chlorhexidine may contribute to the appearance of brown spots on them.

For a solution for external use. The bactericidal effect increases with increasing temperature. At a temperature above 100 °C, the drug partially decomposes.
