Structure and Composition:
Drops for oral administration of 1 ml (15 drops) contains: 7.5 mg of sodium picosulphate
Excipients: sodium methyl paraoxybenzoate sorbitol 70% hydrochloric acid Purified water
Patients with a plastic cork-dropper to 15 or 30 ml in a cardboard bundle one bottle.
Description pharmaceutical form:
The clear, colorless to slightly yellow, slightly viscous solution.
Pharmacokinetics:
After ingestion is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and does not undergo hepatic and intestinal circulation.
Description of the pharmacological actions:
It reduces absorption of electrolytes and water, increases peristalsis.
The active form of the drug, which is formed by hydrolysis under the influence of intestinal microorganisms directly excites the neural structures of the intestinal wall, resulting in promotion of accelerated intestinal contents. The action comes after 10-12 hours after ingestion.
Indications:
- atonic constipation
- stool regulation (haemorrhoids, proctitis, anal fissures)
- preparation for surgery, instrumental and radiological investigations.
Contraindications:
- hypersensitivity to sodium picosulphate or other formulation ingredients
- ileus
- strangulated hernia
- acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity
- peritonitis
- abdominal pain of unknown origin
- severe dehydration
- bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract
- metrorrhagia
- cystitis
- spastic constipation
- Children under 4 years
- pregnancy (I term).

Contraindicated in pregnancy (I term). Be wary - lactation.
Side effect:
Diarrhea, abdominal pain, dehydration, disruption of water and electrolyte balance, weakness, convulsions, decreased blood pressure.
Drug Interactions:
Corticosteroids, diuretics increase the risk of electrolyte abnormalities.
Broad-spectrum antibiotics reduce the laxative effect.
Dosage and administration:
Inside, before going to bed. For adults, the initial dose - 10 drops, with severe and persistent constipation - up to 30 drops. Children over 4 years of the initial dose - 5-10 drops. Depending on the dose effect resulting increase or decrease in subsequent methods.
Overdose:

In addition, overdose with chronic ischemia may develop colonic mucosa, secondary hyperaldosteronism, urolithiasis, renal tubular injury.
Treatment: gastric lavage, correction of water and electrolyte balance, antispasmodics.
Special instructions:
Should not be used daily without medical supervision for more than 10 days. Babies Guttalaks should be administered only under medical recommendation.
