Composition and form of issue:

Eye drops 0.3%, 1 ml contains:

ofloxacin 3 mg

excipients: benzalkonium chloride-0, 025 mg sodium chloride-9 mg 1M hydrochloric acid solution-4, 5-5, 5 mg 1M sodium hydroxide solution-2, 5-3, 5 mg water for injection - up to 1 ml

in polyethylene bottles to 5 ml with dropper cap in the paper cartons 1 a bottle.

Eye ointment 0.3%. 1g contains:

ofloxacin 3 mg

excipients: paraffin liquid - 100 mg wool fat-50 mg vaseline white-847 mg

in tubes of 3 g in a cardboard bundle 1 tuba.

Description of dosage form:

Eye drops: clear solution of light yellow color.

Eye ointment: homogeneous ointment of light yellow color.

Pharmacokinetics:

When administered locally, the therapeutic concentration of the drug in the tissues of the eye is achieved.

Description of pharmacological action:

Blocks the DNA gyrase of a bacterial cell. Is highly active against most gram-negative (E. coli, Salmonella spp., Proteus spp., Morganella morganii, Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Serratia spp., Citrobacter spp., Yersinia spp., Providencia spp., Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Mycoplasma spp., Legionella pneumophila, Acinetobacter spp., Chlamydia spp.) and a number of gram-positive microorganisms (including Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.). Moderately sensitive to the drug Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Pseudomonas spp.

Ofloxacin acts on microorganisms that produce beta-lactamase.

Not sensitive to the drug anaerobic bacteria (except B. Urealyticus).

Indications:

Infectious and inflammatory diseases of the anterior part of the eye caused by microorganisms sensitive to ofloxacin:

  • blepharitis
  • barley
  • conjunctivitis
  • dacryocystitis
  • keratitis and corneal ulcer
  • chlamydial infection of the eye
  • prevention and treatment of bacterial infection after eye injuries and surgery.

Contraindications:

  • hypersensitivity to the drug components
  • pregnancy
  • lactation.

Side effect:

Allergic reactions, transient conjunctival hyperemia, burning sensation, discomfort in the eyes, itching and dryness of the conjunctiva, photophobia, lacrimation rarely — dizziness.

Drug interaction:

Drug interaction of the drug is not described.

Dosage and administration:

Conjunctival.

Drops-instill 1 drop in the conjunctival SAC of the patient's eye 2-4 times a day. It is not recommended to use the drug for more than 2 weeks.

Ointment-strips of ointment length 1, 5 cm lay for the lower eyelid of the patient's eye 2-3 times a day, in the case of chlamydial infection — 5 times a day. It is not recommended to use the drug for more than 2 weeks.

Perhaps the combination of eye drops and ointment Floksal. With the simultaneous use of more than one drug ointment should be used last.

Special instruction:

It is not recommended to wear contact lenses during the use of the drug. Sunglasses should be worn (due to possible photophobia) and long-term exposure to bright light should be avoided.

After applying the ointment temporarily worsens visual acuity, which must be considered when driving and working with mechanisms.

Shelf life:

After opening the bottle, use no more than 6 weeks.
