Pharmacodynamics
The active component of the drug is a bioactive extract from small marine fish [European sprat (Sprattus sprattus) of the herring family, Black Sea whiting (Odontogadus merlangus euxinus) of the cod family, Black Sea whiting (Alosa tanaica) of the herring family, European anchovy (Engraulis encrassicholus) of the anchovy family] obtained by extraction followed by deproteination and delipidization.
Pharmacological properties
ELTUFLOP® BIO - chondroprotector, the active component of which is a bioactive extract from small marine fish. The extract contains mucopolysaccharides (chondroitin sulfate), amino acids, peptides, ions of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper and zinc.
ELTUFLOP® BIO prevents the destruction of macromolecular structures of normal tissues, stimulates the recovery processes in the interstitial tissue and in the tissue of articular cartilage, which explains its analgesic effect.
The anti-inflammatory effect and tissue regeneration are based on inhibition of hyaluronidase activity and normalization of hyaluronic acid biosynthesis.
Both of these effects are synergistic and cause the activation of regenerative processes in tissues (in particular, the restoration of cartilage structure).
Indications
ELTUFLOP® BIO is used in adults with primary and secondary osteoarthritis of various localization (coxarthrosis, gonarthrosis, osteoarthritis of small joints), osteochondrosis and spondylosis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Pregnancy and lactation.
Children under 18 years of age (due to the lack of clinical data in this category of patients).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and during breastfeeding. If necessary, the use of the drug is recommended to stop breastfeeding.
Method of administration and dosage
For polyosteoarthritis and osteochondrosis, the drug is administered intramuscularly 1 ml per day. The course of treatment is 20 injections (1 injection per day for 20 days) or 2 ml every other day, the course of treatment is 10 injections (1 injection every other day for 20 days).
In case of predominant damage to large joints, the drug is injected intra-articularly 1-2 ml into each joint with an interval of 3-4 days. There are 5-6 injections per course in each joint.
A combination of intra-articular and intramuscular injection methods is possible.
It is advisable to repeat the course of treatment 6 months after consulting a doctor.
Side effect
Side effects are grouped according to the WHO classification of the incidence of adverse reactions: very common (?1/10), common (?1/100 to ?1/10), infrequently (?1/1000 to ?1/100), rarely (?1/10000 to ?1/1000), very rare (?1/10000), frequency unknown (frequency cannot be determined based on available data).
Rarely: itchy dermatitis, redness of the skin or burning sensation at the injection site, short-term myalgia. Very rare: the development of anaphylactic reactions.
The frequency is unknown: with intra-articular injections, a transient increase in pain is possible.
Overdose
Overdose increases dose-dependent adverse drug reactions.
Drug interaction
To date, they have not been identified.
Special instructions
In case of individual intolerance to seafood (sea fish), the risk of allergic reactions increases.
Effects on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms
The use of the drug does not affect the ability to perform potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms, the work of a dispatcher and operator).
