T1/2 — (7,5±0,46) h. Calcium Pantothenate is well absorbed in the intestine and is cleaved, releasing Pantothenic acid, which participates in carbohydrate and fat metabolism, stimulates the formation of corticosteroids, accelerates regeneration processes. About 60% of the drug excreted in the urine, and partly with faeces.

Description pharmacological action:

Provides detoxification (including in relation to the products the half-life of ethanol, heavy metals and their compounds, arsenic compounds). Clinical studies have shown hepatoprotective and antioxidant properties of unithiol.

The active sulfhydryl group of unithiol, interacting with thiol poisons, and products of the half-life of alcohol (ethanol) in blood and tissues, forming with them non-toxic compounds (complexes), which are excreted in the urine.

While taking the drug inside unitiol with portal blood enters the liver, where rapid and physiologically irreversibly binds to acetaldehyde. Zoreks activates the alcohol dehydrogenase, strengthening the process of ethanol oxidation and the detoxification of its toxic agents enzyme system of the liver. The presence of the drug zoreks of Pantothenate calcium enhances the detoxification effect of unithiol.
