Composition and form of issue:

Dental gel. 100g contains:

metronidazole 1 g

chlorhexidine gluconate 20% solution 0, 5 g

excipients: menthol-0, 25 g glycerin (glycerol) - 5 g polypropylene glycol-5 g triethanolamine thermostable-0, 47 g arespol-1, 25 g soluble saccharin-0, 25 g purified water-86, 28 g 

in the aluminum tube 10 or 25 g in a pack of cardboard 1 tube.

Description of dosage form:

Homogeneous gel, from white to white with a yellowish tint of color.

Pharmacokinetics:

The local application gel Dentanet™ is practically not absorbed.

Description of pharmacological action:

The effectiveness of the drug is due to the presence in its composition of two antibacterial components:

• metronidazole has antibacterial effect against anaerobic bacteria that cause periodontal disease: Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella intermedia, Fusobacterium fusiformis, Wolinella recta, Eikenella corrodens, Borrelia vincenti, Bacteroides melaninogenicus, Selenomonas spp.
  
• chlorhexidine-antiseptic of a wide range, having a bactericidal effect against vegetative forms of gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, as well as yeast, dermatophytes and lipophilic viruses.
  

Indications:

Infectious and inflammatory diseases of periodontal and oral mucosa:

• acute and chronic gingivitis
  
• acute ulcerative necrotic gingivitis of Vincent
  
• acute and chronic periodontitis
  
• youthful periodontitis
  
• periodontal disease, acute gingivitis
  
• aphthous stomatitis
  
• cheilitis
  
• inflammation of the mucous membrane of the mouth when wearing dentures
  
• postextractive alveolitis (inflammation of the hole after tooth extraction)
  
• periodontitis, periodontal abscess (as part of combination therapy).
  

Contraindications:

• individual intolerance of metronidazole and other derivatives of nitroimidazole, chlorhexidine
  
• intolerance to any components of the drug
  
• children under 6 years old.
  

Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding:

It is not recommended to prescribe the drug to pregnant women in the I trimester of pregnancy. During lactation should decide on the cessation of breastfeeding.

Side effect:

The local application of the gel Dentanet™ the risk of systemic side effects is low, however, sometimes there may be headache, allergic reactions (skin rash, itching, hives).

Drug interaction:

When applied topically in recommended doses, systemic interaction Dentamed gel™ with other drugs have not been identified.

Dosage and administration:

Locally, only for dental use.

Adults and children over 6 years with inflammation of the gums (gingivitis) Dentanet™ is applied to the area of the gums 2 times a day, rinse the gel is not recommended. The duration of treatment is an average of 7-10 days. After applying the gel should refrain from drinking and eating for 30 minutes.

When parodontitis after removal of dental deposits, periodontal pockets are treated with a gel Dentanet™ and is the application of the gel on the gum area. The time of exposure was 30 min and the Number of treatments depends on the severity of the disease. In further applications of the gel the patient can carry out yourself: Dentanet™ is applied to the area of the gums 2 times a day for 7-10 days.

When aphthous stomatitis Dentanet™ is applied to the affected area of the mucous membrane of the mouth 2 times a day for 7-10 days.

For the prevention of exacerbations of chronic gingivitis and periodontitis Dentamed gel™ is applied to the area of the gums 2 times a day for 7-10 days. Preventive courses of treatment are carried out 2-3 times a year.

For the prevention of postextraction alveolitis after tooth extraction, the hole is treated with Dentamete ™ gel, then the gel is applied on an outpatient basis 2-3 times a day for 7-10 days.

Overdose:

There were no cases of drug overdose with local application.

Special instruction:

The use of the gel Dentanet™ does not replace teeth cleaning, so during the course of drug treatment, teeth brushing needs to be continued.
