Release form and composition:

Syrup for children yellow or light yellow color.

1 ml contains:

timogen (apha-glutamyl-tryptophan in the form of sodium salt) 150 mcg

bendazol 1.25 mg

ascorbic acid 12 mg

Auxiliary substances: saccharose, purified water.

50 ml - vials dark glass (1) complete with a spoon-dropper - packs of cardboard.

Pharmacological action:

The immunomodulatory drug, influencing the reaction cell, humoral immunity and nonspecific resistance of the organism. Has interferonogenic effect.

Part of the drug bendazol induces the production of endogenous interferon. Enzymes induced by interferon in cells of various organs, inhibit virus replication. In addition, activating immunocompetent cells, the drug helps to normalize the immune status.

Timogen acts on T-cell link of immunity.

Ascorbic acid activates humoral immunity, normalizes permeability of capillaries, thereby inhibiting the inflammatory process.

Pharmacokinetics:

Suction

After intake of fully absorbed from the digestive tract. The bioavailability of bendazola - about 80%, timogen - not more than 15% and ascorbic acid - 90%.

Metabolism

Timogen under the influence of peptidases cleaved into L - glutamic acid and L-tryptophan used by the body in protein synthesis.

Excretion

Metabolites of ascorbic acid and bendazola excreted in the urine. T1/2 of the components does not exceed 3 hours.

Indications:

— prevention and symptomatic treatment of early stages of influenza and other ARVI.

Dosing regimen:

The drug is taken orally 30 minutes before a meal.

With the aim of prevention and treatment for adults and children over 6 years appoint 1 caps. 3 times/day for 4 days.

Children at the age from 1 year to 3 years appoint 2 ml of syrup 3 times/day for 4 days to children aged 3 to 6 years - 4 ml 3 times/day for 4 days to children aged 6 to 10 years - 8 ml 3 times/day for 4 days to children over the age of 10 - 12 ml 3 times/day for 4 days.

Prophylactic re-treatment can be carried out in 3-4 weeks.

Side effects:

From the side of cardiovascular system: transient decrease in blood pressure (in patients with neurocirculatory dystonia).

Other: allergic reactions.

Contraindications:

— diabetes mellitus (for the syrup)

— children up to age 6 years (for capsules)

— pregnancy (for capsules)

— lactation (for capsules)

— hypersensitivity to the drug.

Pregnancy and lactation:

The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.

Special instructions:

Long-term use of syrup requires periodic monitoring of kidney function and glucose level in the blood.

In recommended doses, the drug Citovir®-3 is compatible with all agents used for the symptomatic treatment of influenza and other ARVI.
