Structure and Composition:

1 tablet coated liner contains chlorprothixene 15 or 50 mg in blister 10 pcs., In box 3 or 5 blisters.

Pharmachologic effect:

Blocks dopamine, histamine, serotonin, alpha-adrenergic and cholinergic receptors in the CNS.

Indications:

Psychoses, including schizophrenia, depression during menopause, the state of arousal associated with fear and stress, encephalopathy, traumatic brain injury, delirium tremens, sleep disorders with anxiety psychosomatic, neurotic disorders in children with burns in patients with persistent itching dermatoses.

Contraindications:

Absolute: Hypersensitivity, poisoning drugs, CNS depressants (including alcohol), comatose states from any cause.

Relative: epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, a tendency to collapse, expressed by the human kidney, liver, heart and respiration, angle-closure glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, pregnancy, lactation (should abandon breastfeeding), advanced age.

Side effect:

Extrapyramidal disorders, fatigue, headache, dry mouth, orthostatic hypertension, tachycardia, accommodation disturbances, blurred vision, constipation, urinary disorders, jaundice, amenorrhea, galactorrhea, gynecomastia, changes in libido, disorders of carbohydrate metabolism, increased appetite, weight gain , agranulocytosis, leukopenia, photosensitivity, fotodermatit, withdrawal syndrome (sudden cessation of treatment).

Drug Interactions:

It enhances the effect of drugs which depress the central nervous system, including alcohol.

Dosage and administration:

Inside, during or after a meal, not liquid, squeezed water. Dosage is determined individually. Typically, adults: 30-50 mg 3-4 times a day. Treatment started with a low dose, and then gradually increase the dose until the disappearance of symptoms of disease. Most of the dose is usually prescribed for the night. Adult daily dose should not exceed 600 mg.

Children: 15-30 mg 3-4 times a day.

Precautionary measures:

Termination treatment recommended gradually reducing the dosage. At the time of treatment should avoid drinking alcohol, exposure to extreme temperatures, sun exposure, potentially hazardous activities that require increased attention and psychomotor speed reactions.
