• Espumisan L (Simethicone) 30ml

Expiration date: 01/2026

Pharmacological action:

The drug belongs to the group of "defoamers". This group has the ability to reduce the surface tension of bubbles, thereby contributing to their decay. The gas released in this case is freely absorbed by the surrounding tissues (in particular, the intestinal wall) or is freely excreted from the body, due to intestinal peristalsis. All of the above properties of the drug cause its use in flatulence (bloating) of the intestine, as well as in other cases when it is necessary to reduce the volume of free gas in the intestine (before operations, diagnostic examinations).

Indications for use:

  • flatulence (bloating due to accumulation within the excess amount of free gas), including patients in the postoperative period
  • before the operation and (or) diagnostic manipulations of the abdominal cavity (improves the contrast of the intestine, prevents the occurrence of image defects, allows for irrigation of the bowel contrast agent over full),
  • use in Pediatrics for flatulence and colic in infants,
  • aerophagia,
  • dyspepsia,
  • roemheld syndrome,
  • as a "defoamer" for acute poisoning with detergents,
  • as an additive to a suspension of contrast media to produce a double contrast image.

How to use:

applied inside. It is advisable to use during meals or after meals, if necessary, the drug is used before bedtime.

Adults with flatulence are prescribed 80 mg (2 teaspoons) once.

Children from 6 to 14 years of age once 40-80 mg(1-2 teaspoons or 1-2 capsules).

Infants and children of preschool age are prescribed the drug only in the form of an emulsion once for 40 mg (1 teaspoon). The drug is given with food from a bottle or with a small amount of liquid after a meal.

In most cases, a single application of the drug is sufficient. Before operations and diagnostic studies, the frequency of taking the drug is determined by the attending physician. The average dose is 80 mg (2 teaspoons or 2 capsules) 3 times a day the day before the study and 80 mg (2 teaspoons or 2 capsules) in the morning on the day of the study.
