Pharmacological action
Bacteriostatic broad-spectrum antibiotic of the tetracycline group. Disrupts the formation of the complex between transfer RNA and the ribosome, leading to inhibition of protein synthesis.
Active against grampolaugitionah microorganisms (Staphylococcus spp. including producing penicillinase; Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus pneumoniae), Haemophilus influenzae, Listeria spp., Bacillus anthracis and gram-negative microorganisms Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Bordetella pertussis, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp. and Rickettsia spp. Chlamydia spp., Mycoplasma spp. Treponema spp.
Resistant: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp., Serratia spp. most strains of Bacteroides spp. and fungi, viruses, beta-hemolytic Streptococcus group A (including 44 % of strains of Streptococcus pyogenes and 74 percent of strains of Streptococcus faecalis).

- folliculitis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, children's age (up to 11 years).
Special instructions
Not recommended for use in deep or puncture wounds, serious burns, ophthalmology (use 1 % eye ointment).
It should be borne in mind that the use of antibacterial agents for topical use may lead to sensitization of the organism, accompanied by the development of hypersensitivity reactions.
If within 2 weeks the condition does not improve, consult a doctor.
Adequate and well-controlled studies in children under 11 years are not carried out; the doses for this category of patients is not defined.
Composition
Active substance: tetracycline hydrochloride - 3, 226 g.
Auxiliary substances: lanolin (lanolin anhydrous), microcrystalline wax, sodium disulfite (sodium pyrosulfite), vaseline.
Method of application and doses
Externally. The ointment is applied to affected areas of skin 1-2 times a day (perhaps imposing occluzionna bandages).
Side effects
Allergic reactions: burning sensation, redness of skin, swelling or other signs of irritation.
Drug interactions
Tetracycline hydrochloride, forms soluble complexes with ions of calcium, iron and other metals, and in this connection it should not take the drug with milk and dairy products (due to content of calcium); antacids that contain aluminum salts, calcium, magnesium; and iron preparations.
