The drug forms: Translucent white ointment.

Pharmachologic effect:

Mode of action - Antibacterial local, broad-spectrum bacteriostatic.

Pharmacodynamics

Mupirocin - bacteriostatic broad-spectrum antibiotic for topical use. It inhibits the synthesis of bacterial proteins by reversibly and specifically binding to izoleytsintransportnoy RNA synthetase. It affects the skin infection pathogens: Staphylococcus aureus (including strains resistant to methicillin), Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, and Streptococcus pyogenes (including coagulase strains). It has no cross-resistance with chloramphenicol, erythromycin, fusidic acid, gentamicin, lincomycin, methicillin, neomycin, streptomycin, tetracycline.

Pharmacokinetics

Mupirocin practically does not penetrate intact skin. In the case of absorption through damaged skin is metabolized to microbiologically inactive metabolite - Moniev acid - and is rapidly excreted by the kidneys.

Indications Bonderm® drug

Primary and secondary infections of the skin caused by micro-organisms susceptible to mupirocin, including:

Primary skin infections - pyoderma (streptococcal, stafilodermii): impetigo, sycosis, folliculitis, furunculosis (boils including the external auditory canal and the ear), ecthyma,

secondary infection - infected eczema, infected atopic, contact and allergic dermatitis, infected injuries (bruises, cuts, scrapes, insect bites), trophic ulcers, minor (not requiring hospitalization) wounds and burns,

prevention of bacterial lesions and their complications resulting from minor wounds, cuts, pressure sores.

Contraindications:

hypersensitivity to any component of the drug,

Children up to age 3 years.

Precautions: renal impairment (see "Special Instructions".).

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

At present, insufficient data on the use of mupirocin in pregnancy, so use of the drug is possible if the expected benefits outweigh the potential risk of complications.

Withdrawal of the drug in breast milk is unlikely, however, use of the drug in nursing mothers is possible if the expected benefit exceeds the risk of complications.

Side effects:

Bonderm® ointment was well tolerated. Very rarely observed burning, itching and dryness in the place of application of the drug. Cutaneous allergic reactions (swelling at the site of application, rash) to mupirocin or the ointment base have been observed rarely. In applying the ointment in a few cases were reported of generalized allergic reactions.

Interaction

to avoid the simultaneous application with other medications for external use, since it can reduce the antibacterial activity or stability in the mupirocin ointment.

Dosing and Administration

Outwardly.

A small amount of the ointment Bonderm® applied to the affected surface of the skin 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment - 10 days, depending on the severity of lesions. In the absence of clinical effect after 5 days of treatment, it is recommended to review the diagnosis and subsequent treatment strategy, taking into account the dynamics of clinical parameters.

Bonderm® ointment can be applied using aseptic dressings or apply under an occlusive dressing.

Children and elderly patients. Restrictions are not required.

Abnormal liver function. You do not need correction.

Impaired renal function. See. "Be wary."

Overdose:

Overdose cases to date are not logged in.

Special instructions:

Macrogol, part of the ointment for external use, is absorbed from open wounds and damaged skin and excreted by the kidneys, so patients with severe chronic renal failure should be used with caution in vast areas of the skin.

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. If you get the ointment in the eye and mucous membranes it is recommended to rinse thoroughly with water until the ointment residues.

In rare cases of allergic reactions or significant irritation of the skin when applying ointment Bonderm treatment should be discontinued, the affected area be washed with water to remove ointment residues and appoint an alternative antibiotic therapy.

Effects on ability to drive or to perform work requiring higher rate of physical and mental reactions. Adverse effect on the ability to drive and use machines were observed.

Ointment for external use, 2%. 15 g of the aluminum tubes. The opening of the tube is protected by a membrane. To close the tube using PE threaded cap and pin. The tube is placed in a cardboard box.
