Composition  

100 g ointment for external use contains: 

active substances: 

menthol/peppermint oil 3, 9/7, 8 g, methyl salicylate, 20, 2 g 

excipients: medical vaseline; paraffin oil firm 

Pharmacological action 

BOM-benge ointment has analgesic and anti-inflammatory action. 

Testimony 

arthralgia; myalgia; pain syndrome in diseases of the periarticular tissues; sciatica; sciatica. 

Contraindications 

hypersensitivity to any component of the drug; open wounds; skin irritation; children up to age 6 years. With caution: pregnancy, breastfeeding, aspirin bronchial asthma, children ages 6 to 12 years. 

Side effects 

In rare cases, it develops hypersensitivity to the drug, irritation at the injection site, allergic skin reactions, and angioedema. 

Interaction 

The drug causes skin flushing and reflex increases blood circulation in the subcutaneous tissue, thus, the combined use with other drugs local actions can lead to the strengthening of their intake. The use of large quantities may increase methotrexate toxicity and reduce the therapeutic effect of hypoglycemic agents. The drug should not be used with oral anticoagulants. 

How to take, treatment course and dosage 

Externally. The necessary amount of ointment (2-4 g, which corresponds to the volume of a large cherry) is rubbed into painful areas of the skin. If necessary, repeat the procedure a few hours (up to 3 times a day). The duration of the course (without medical advice) — up to 10 days. 

Overdose 

Overdose of menthol and methyl salicylate was observed in some cases, mainly in children, accidental ingestion of preparations containing these substances. 

Symptoms: agitation, increase in respiration depth, or hyperpyrexia, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting and symptoms of CNS depression such as dizziness, unsteady gait, tide-to-face, drowsiness, respiratory depression and coma. 

Treatment: symptomatic and supportive; correction of electrolyte and water balance, the appointment of absorbent material, saline laxatives, forced diuresis, external cooling of the body; in severe cases, blood transfusion, hemodialysis. 

Overdose ointment BOM Benga the local application is rare and only in case of improper use of the product (damage to the mucous membranes, extensive areas of damaged or infected skin). 

Special instructions 

For external use only. Do not apply with warm compresses. The appearance of skin irritation discontinue use. Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, areas of skin irritation. Do not use the drug longer than 10 days without consulting a doctor.
