Pharmacokinetics:

Description of the pharmacological actions:

When released from a complex with PVP in contact with skin and mucous membranes, iodine reacts with proteins bacterial cell yodaminy, coagulates them and causes the death of microorganisms. It provides rapid bactericidal activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (except for M. tuberculosis). Effective against fungi, viruses, protozoa.

Testimony:

The treatment of the following diseases and conditions:

  • vaginitis (mixed, non-specific)
  • bacterial vaginosis
  • candidiasis
  • trichomoniasis
  • genital herpes
  • preoperative preparation in obstetrics and gynecology.

Contraindications:

  • hypersensitivity to iodine and other components of the drug
  • dysfunction of the thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) - see "Special Instructions" section.

  • the simultaneous use of radioactive iodine
  • children's age (up to 8 years).

Precautions: Pregnancy and lactation peridium.

Drug Interactions:

Incompatible with other disinfectants and antiseptic agents, particularly those containing alkali, enzymes and mercury.

Dosage and administration:

Intravaginally, after pre-treatment of the sanitary 1 supp. injected deep into the vagina: in acute vaginitis - 1-2 times a day for 7 days at subacute and chronic vaginitis - 1 time a day at bedtime for 14 days (possibly longer).

Special instructions:

If any of the functions of thyroid medication may be used only as directed by a physician. It is necessary to carry out monitoring of thyroid function in newborns and infants fed breast milk, which is used Betadine mother.

The use of povidone-iodine is allowed with the neonatal period, but with the release form (vaginal suppositories), the drug is recommended for use from 8 years and to use caution when administered virgins.
