Pharmacological action
The mechanism of action of Espumisan is based on the reduction of surface tension at the border separating the two phases. Prevents the formation of gas bubbles in the mucus and nutritional suspension of the gastrointestinal tract. During x-ray and ultrasound examination, it neutralizes the appearance of image defects caused by the action of gas bubbles. Espumisan promotes the removal of gas from the body to the outside naturally or through its absorption into the bloodstream.
Pharmacokinetics
It is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It is excreted unchanged from the body.
Indications
- Formation and accumulation of gases in the gastrointestinal tract in excess (flatulence, aerophagia, Remheld syndrome, increased gas formation in the postoperative period),
- preparation for diagnostic and instrumental studies of the pelvic and abdominal organs (ultrasound, x-ray, etc.),
- excessive gas formation caused by functional dyspepsia,
- acute poisoning by toxins contained in detergents (foaming agents).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance,
- hypersensitivity or intolerance to the components of the drug,
- intestinal obstruction,
