Composition and form of issue:
Ointment for external use 20% 100 g:
benzyl benzoate (benzyl benzoate medical) 20 g
excipients: triethanolamine thermostable acid stearic polyethylene oxide 400 purified water — up to 100 g
in banks dark glass or tubes of 25 g in the paper cartons 1 Bank or 1 tube.
Pharmacological action:
It penetrates through the chitinous cover of scabies mites and all kinds of lice and accumulates in toxic concentrations.
Indications:
Scabies, pediculosis.
Side effect:
Burning sensation, allergic reactions.
Dosage and administration:
Locally.The course of treatment lasts 4 days. Adults appoint 20% ointment, and children — 10%. On the first day, the treatment is carried out in the evening before going to bed after a thorough wash in the shower with warm water and soap. The ointment is rubbed into the skin of the hands, then the torso and legs, including the soles and fingers. After skin treatment, only clean linen and clothing should be used. On 2 and 3 days make a break in the treatment, with the remnants of the ointment is not washed off the skin. On the 4th day in the evening, the patient washes with soap and rubbing the ointment, as on the first day, using the remaining ointment, and once again changes all the linen. Hands after treatment should not be washed for 3 hours in the following hands treated with ointment after each wash. In the case of washing off the ointment from other areas of the skin, they also need to be re-treated. Ointment completely washed off the skin on the fifth day of treatment.
Precautionary measures:
Be sure to disinfect underwear and bed linen, outerwear and hats. Avoid contact with the eyes ointment.
